How lovely and sad, and sweet. Music would have been such a consolation to Pippin.

Lovely story!! It's nice to think that hobbits would maintain some of the elvish music in Middle Earth. If we could still find hobbits, maybe we would know how the elvish music sounded all those years ago.

Very sweet! The Shire will now be filled with Elvish music, and I suppose Pippin will teach his own children to play the songs.
Author's reply
Thank you!
It seems Pippin will have to setup a new family tradition :)

I love this and I was glad that Pippin hugged Elrond. If anyone could get away with it, it would be Pippin. I also liked Pippin trying to make it seem as if Merry were the one who was frightened. Such a lovely story!
Author's reply
Thank you!
I believe Pippin could get away with anything, lol :)

What a sweet little story. I enjoyed every word. I can quite imagine how Merry and Pippin are totally in awe of Elrond. And, as a bit of a musician, I too would just love to learn to play an elvish insrtrument and music. Thank you Elanar!

"Looking at Pippin playing the elvish instrument, they finally knew that though the elves were leaving these shores, they would not be forgotten."
What a lovely thought.

How lovely and appropriate for Pippin to learn and play the Elven music. I *do* so love Pippin and music! Is this the end, or will there be more?
Author's reply

“It translates into ‘Wind of the West’ since elvish music seems to fly on the wind. When it is played, it transcends the self. One becomes part of nature as if the wind itself. You will feel this connection as well. Of course not as strong as the elves do, but stronger than most for in you dwells the faerie blood of our ancestors though you keep it well hidden.”
Love it! Elrond is so perceptive, isn't he? Will we get to hear Pippin playing the flute?
Author's reply
I'm happy to hear your enjoying this!
Elrond is very preceptive and he likes showing it,lol.
And yes, you'll get to hear Pippin playing the flute. I'm mapping out the next chapter out. It'll take me a bit longer as I haven't yet decided if a little detour will be taken in the story.
Thanks for reading :)

A lovely meeting with Elrond. I liked Pippin's moment of homesickness outside of Elrond's door. It seemed to connect everything to the eventual end of their journey and the fact that they will be going home soon. Beautiful chapter!

Looks like Pipin will be nervous for a bit longer. It also looks like Elrond has everyone working on whatever he is up to. Can't wait for more.

Now what is that tricksy, half-elven Elrond up to now? I am so glad that you are back to posting on this one. I can't wait to see what Elrond has planned. I suspect that Pippin will have a great deal of trouble convincing himself to attend this meeting. LOL
Author's reply
Elrond just knows that Pippin is afraid of him and finds it amusing ;)
Hopefully Pippin can convince himself to go :)

This is an interesting idea. I can certainly see Frodo and Sam's decisons. Though I would think Frodo would be more interested in one of the books rather than the book ends. Though I think Frodo may be more interested in the music since he can understand the language more. And Pippin...well I just can't imagine a hobbit not wanting a copy of the recipies. Though I must admit, you've got me curious about Elrodn's condition for the request of the songs. Keep me updated!
