Mysterious Jedi · 9 February 2005 · Chapter 7: Unsettling Events

I must compliment you on a good suspenseful ending, but unfortuantely, that leaves me wanting more when I'll have to wait for the next update :)

Julia · 9 February 2005 · Chapter 7: Unsettling Events

Uh oh, the scary stuff from the Ring influencing Boromir is starting to happen. Is the ship part of that, or is it a device of Saruman to draw off Frodo's protectors? I hope Merry is okay, and that Pip, Aragorn, and Legolas find him soon.

So, you have poor Boromir having to deal with his temptation here as well. The poor Man. Good idea having Pippin go to help find Merry. And of course Frodo is stubborn, he's a Baggins ;) Well done as always :)

Galidea · 31 January 2005 · Chapter 6: Hidden Spells

Thanks for updating! It's great to see the lighter side of this story, I really liked the frodo/marker thing. It's great to be home, I don't think I'll be leaving any time soon, so I'll be able to keep a weather eye out for any new developements. Update soon, and you're still my hero! Galidea ;D

Heh, heh . . . Boromir's teasing Pippin, Gandalf's gotta watch Merry; lots of things going on here! Wonderful fun! But . . . " “Is... am I all right?” Frodo asked Aragorn as everyone sat down near him and began to eat. " I can't believe you missed this chance to have Frodo say, 'Aragorn, am I going to be alright?' and give all your Quarantined and BCOP fans a little inside grin! Love this story, Esamen

Hmm...some interesting twists you've added here, I see. Having Merry be the one to look into the stone rather than Pippin...you'd think Merry was part Took, he's so inquisitive *grin* Being an avid follower of "Lost", I admit I enjoy seeing how you manage to incorporate elements of both LOTR and LOST into this. Frodo with writing on his hands...now THAT I like. Charlie happens to be my favorite "Lost" character as it is. Now if only I could get to meet Dom in person...oh well. I did get to see Sean last week, so I guess I'll just have to settle for that for now! Maybe LOTR and LOST could hook up for real...Billy Boyd in a Charlie flashback episode? Now THAT would get peoples' attention, I think. Well done...and like some of your other readers, I am EAGERLY awaiting the next episode of "Lost" on Feb. 9th. Good thing I have all the others downloaded to keep me occupied until then.

Loved this! Especially how they wrote F-R-O-D-O on Frodo's fingers just like Charlie has those tape letters on his. I'm glad Frodo is healed, but I take it Merry's involvement with the Palantir is not over? Poor Meriadoc! Hmm, Gimli is making more weapons, can we expect a fight with the forces of evil? Please update soon!

Pearl Took · 30 January 2005 · Chapter 6: Hidden Spells

Priceless!!! F*R*O*D*O on the fingers!!!!! I LOVE how you are switching everyone around, so to speak. Yes, we must beware the wiley Saruman! This is so rocking!!

Mysterious Jedi · 30 January 2005 · Chapter 6: Hidden Spells

I'm sure that as long as it isn't a tatoo it should wash off...eventually. Poor Merry. I look forward to more.

Julia · 23 January 2005 · Chapter 5: The Mind of Saruman

An Oliphant! That explains the mysterious beast for this story (I think you are right about the one on "Lost"--we will either never see it, or will have to wait until years into the show--hopefully it will last that long.) Poor Merry stricken by the Palantir! Saruman is up to his evil tricks, as we found out from Frodo. Can't wait for the next chapter to see if the Fellowship does move to the cave and how they cope with Saruman's evil plots.

Pearl Took · 23 January 2005 · Chapter 5: The Mind of Saruman

Very intriquing how you are tweaking LOTR! Metal cutting Frodo's leg instead of a blade to the shoulder. Elf and Dwarf making an early, open agreement to work at being friends. The "Mouth of Saruman" on a Mumakil. You are most creative and inventive, my dear shirebound!! Write on!!

Mysterious Jedi · 23 January 2005 · Chapter 5: The Mind of Saruman

Still interesting so far, I will be on the watch for updates :) (yes, I know I'm not the most creative reviewer; but might as well say something, right:)

Galidea · 23 January 2005 · Chapter 5: The Mind of Saruman

Hello my hero, sorry it took so long to review, I just read the last post and the new one. I was in Sri Lanka for the last week, with no internet or computers. Not that I wasn't busy. Tsunamis arn't pretty even this long after the original event. Great Chapters and I can't wait for the next update. PS what was with the polar bear on the last episode? Does the island just show them what they fear? I know that Jon messed with shanon's brother's head, maybe he did the same to Mike's kid? Kinda weird fi u ask me. Oh well. Looking forward to the next chapter, happy writing, Namarie

Armariel · 23 January 2005 · Chapter 5: The Mind of Saruman

hehehe...no, I haven't dropped out of sight, I've been reading and anticipating1 this is fun and clever, keep it up. I've only ever watched about 1 ep of "Lost"--I'm just not a TV watcher--but I can still enjoy the story! Ah, if only this darn site didn't hate me so much, then I could post some of my own stuff........... cheers Armariel~~~{~@

Julia · 18 January 2005 · Chapter 4: Unseen

Yay,update! Good for Gimli bagging the boar. Sam is so cute immediately figuring out the tastiest way to cook it. Now the secret of the Ring is out, everybody knows about it and Frodo is going to have to be extra careful. Has Merry gone after the Palantir? And will Aragorn get a chance to use the athelas to help Frodo? More soon please!

Pearl Took · 18 January 2005 · Chapter 4: Unseen

Where indeed IS Merry!? Did he wander off? Has he absconded? Did nature call? I shall stay tuned to find out! ;)

Grey Wonderer · 18 January 2005 · Chapter 3: A Fellowship Forms

Interesting change there near the end with Merry and the palantir. Or, at least I think it was a Palantir. LOL You be tricksy on this.

Grey Wonderer · 18 January 2005 · Chapter 2: Dark Magic

I like how you are working the ring and the quest into this story. It's LOTR but it's a different situation. Very enjoyable so far.

Dayna · 18 January 2005 · Chapter 4: Unseen

MORE WOW!! Hold on Tight, Gandalf!!

esamen · 18 January 2005 · Chapter 4: Unseen

Oh, good . . . another chapter . . . I was beginning to worry about you and your RL, hoping that all is well and you are happy! I am really enjoying this story. The main thing that I love about the original quest is the characters and their relationships, so I am good to go with the lost island concept! I was reading your remarks to your readers and I just have to respond to this one: "I’m not really worrying about a “backstory” (why they were on the plane, where they were going, etc.), but concentrating more on these nine Middle-earth characters meeting, bonding, and facing danger together in an unexpected setting. Thank you for coming along for “the ride”! " That's exactly how I feel too. You are always so gracious and giving in your comments. It makes your stories that much more fun to read--I always feel like I'm part of a wonderful group of friends when I read a shirebound story. Thanks for developing poor Gimli. He was given short shrift in the movies. Aragorn makes a wonderful Ranger wherever he goes . . . he seems kinda like a Texas ranger now, but that's good; a little extra testosterone is always welcome . . . And I love your Frodo. . . .I always love your Frodo . . . I love his interest in maps, and his courage that is not intimidated by Boromir. I loved Quarantined and BCOP so much, mainly because of Frodo . . . and I love h/c too, as long as there is plenty of plot, action and heroism along with it. I love the fever, Sam's protectiveness, and the bond that is beginning to grow with Aragorn . . . I can't wait to see where you're going with this! Thanks for continuing to write! You sure do brighten up my day.

Roger Gamgee · 18 January 2005 · Chapter 4: Unseen

As a huge fan of both "Lost" and LOTR, I have to admit I've been enjoying this thoroughly. It looks like you've cast Gimli in the role of Locke (the hunter/advisor). Frodo almost seems to bear resemblance to Sayid, but I may be off on that one. This is proving to be a rather intriguing twist - I'm impressed with how you've managed to successfully combine both series so far. It's not completely one series or the other, but a synthesis of both that makes for a very interesting read. Glad to be along for the ride on this one. Keep up the excellent work! You've got me intrigued now...if Frodo put on the Ring, how on earth did Merry disappear? Did the 'unseen creature' get him? *wink*

pipinheart · 11 January 2005 · Chapter 3: A Fellowship Forms

Very nice... All are settling in trying to help in the best way they can..Frodo isn't doing to well, and all the hobbits want to protect him. Merry finds an object in the water... Real nice story...Please continue....

Lackwit · 10 January 2005 · Chapter 3: A Fellowship Forms

Dunedain- Middle Earth Marshals (or Rangers) - haha, very clever! The story is coming together excellently- I too am wondering why Merry got tagged by the palantir this time. Boromir is quite an interesting characterization- like him.

Dayna · 10 January 2005 · Chapter 3: A Fellowship Forms

Shirebound... this is SO cool! I'm kinda glad I don't know about Lost, because I can't 'see' paralells or say, 'oh, look. Legolas is so and so or Boromir's acting just like whosey over there'. :D I do have a question, however. Why is it that MERRY found the Palintir and not Pip? Does Merry actually 'mirror' Dom's Lost persona?? Oh, and I'm rather glad it's not just like Lost.... don't they have a pregnant woman in their midst? :::giggles::: Boromir would have FITS dealing with THAT, I think! LOL!! Anyway, I'm loving this story. Thanks for writing it! And btw, I don't usually read TBC's because I want my whole story at once. But you've hooked me! :D
