I just read this story for the second time but I want to say thank you for all of your work. It is really quite touching and just sweet down to the last letter. Also, as one who lives for Peregrin Took, it helps, I guess to have such an interesting test subject. Very well done. I've always been so glad that Merry and Pippin had each other to help cope with the rough times. That is what makes it so hard later when they are split up.

Poor Pippin and poor Merry trying so hard to be brave for Pip and ask those difficult questions without causing Pippin more pain. You did a wonderful job of showing Pippin's distress and embarrassment as well as his resolve to be strong no matter what. Merry broke my heart trying to remain calm and keep his eyes open while Pippin explained everything. Great chapter!
