This is an enchanting story,of friends, and those that are no longer there. Pip and farimair seem good and lasting friends that will remain so... Please continue....

Dreamflower · 22 October 2004 · Chapter 4: Past And Present Build Future Content

This was lovely--all the Fellowship, plus Faramir, reading and enjoying one another's company in friendship. Just exactly the kind of thing I love! I'm so glad to find it finished!

Dreamflower · 22 October 2004 · Chapter 3: Doubt Set Aside, Hope Now Resides

Oh my! Somehow it had escaped me that this sweet fic had been finished, until I saw it on Marigold's Recs. So Aragorn has been demoted to delivering Pippin's post, eh? He certainly seemed to enjoy the task. I *love* Pippin's note, as well. Dolt, huh? So glad he could jolt a laugh out of Faramir.

Hi Nijijin, Havn't got around to reading your story yet. I am printing out your story to read on the way home. Will review later. Just to let you know if no-one has caught you up on it - Ellis Peters is the pen name of Edith Mary Pargeter - power to the girls.

I love the way you describe everyone reading and enjoyig each other's company in this chapter. The conversation between Gandlaf and Faramir was wonderful. I also enjoyed the idea of Frodo carving something rather interesting into that table. A great chapter! I have enjoyed this very much!

Hai Took · 21 September 2004 · Chapter 4: Past And Present Build Future Content

Good for Faramir to finally get out! Ooh! I wish I could see everyone so happy and comfortable in one anothers presence! I love the way Faramir helped Legolas and Gimli choose a book and the little conversation between Faramir and Gandalf, very special! Pippin being so excited was great! Thank you for such a quick chapter! Looking forward to more, thank you!

What an enchanting chapter! I could see every detail of that room. Oh, and what a marvelous "Quest" for Frodo! I can well imagine children of future kings and stewards gazing in awe at the Ringbearer's carving. “The pages are blank, Mithrandir.” “Nay, my son, they are full of the great deeds and rich history that the 27th Steward of Gondor will bring about at the side of his beloved friend and brother, the King.” Wonderful.

Hai Took · 19 September 2004 · Chapter 3: Doubt Set Aside, Hope Now Resides

I'm glad that there are those who are looking out for Faramir so well! Aragorn and Faramir considering each other family is perfect, it only makes since but I'm glad the feelings are felt by both! It seems Pippin it tryig to lure Faramir away from his work as well, good! Looking forward to more!

shirebound · 19 September 2004 · Chapter 3: Doubt Set Aside, Hope Now Resides

I think Aragorn and Pippin, together, are two of the best things ever to happen to Faramir. And oh, I love this line: "You are priceless, and I mean for you to understand and believe it.” If only everyone who needed it, could hear something like this.

Grey Wonderer · 19 September 2004 · Chapter 3: Doubt Set Aside, Hope Now Resides

Leave it to Pippin to send a note like that one and have it delivered by the King. I love this story and Aragorn is wonderful in it. I like the way that he reassured Faramir while trying to get him to rest a bit more and spend time with his friends. Can't wait for more.

Pearl Took · 28 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Joys Untold On Hold

Oh my!! Wow, this is off to a great start and I hope you will continue to weave your tale.

shirebound · 28 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Joys Untold On Hold

I like how Pippin considers Faramir "his Steward". You're creating a wonderful friendship (and mutual need) between these two, and I like how Aragorn is aware of everything happening amongst his beloved friends.

Dreamflower · 28 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Joys Untold On Hold

Oh my! This is lovely--the sweet friendship between Pippin and Faramir, their reluctance of each to give his own burdens to the other, and their joy in the friendship they share, is shown so lovingly. And Aragorn, listening in and taking note, his healer's instincts at the ready. I think perhaps he will find that his Steward needs to be relieved of the burden of some of these infernal reports! But Pip's reference to the mystery drew a chuckle from me. Take my advice: make the time to finish the story. Nothing can nag at you more than an unfinished mystery! By the way, what's your favorite Brother Cadfael? Mine is "One Corpse Too Many".

Dreamflower · 28 August 2004 · Chapter 1: A Tale Once Woven, Now Frozen

Oh, my, how sweet! I love the idea that Faramir could coax Boromir to read to him, and that he and Pip are reading a story together.

Dreamflower · 28 August 2004 · Chapter 0: Author's Notes

Oh, my goodness, another Brother Cadfael fan! I absolutely love the Brother Cadfael stories, and my alter-ego, AElfwenna, is actually a friend and acquaintance of his. 8-D (re. my SCA persona! LOL!) I can't wait to see how your story manages to work that in.

Hai Took · 28 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Joys Untold On Hold

Very nice! I like how you have portrayed Faramir and Pippin's relationship! I am glad that they know each other so well and are able to help each other with their cares! They shared some of the same experiences and such and you have made their bond a wonderful one! This last big from Pippin has me confused as well! I hope Aragorn is able to get it all out of Pippin and through that we get to find out what is going on! ;) Looking forward to more, thank you very much!

Hai Took · 19 July 2004 · Chapter 1: A Tale Once Woven, Now Frozen

It is delightful to see you have written another story! I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next and Faramir and Pippin get to finish their book, I do hate being side tracked from a book but it happens all to often! The flashback of Boromir and Faramir's childhood was wonderful! Looking forward to more, thank you!

Grey Wonderer · 17 July 2004 · Chapter 1: A Tale Once Woven, Now Frozen

This is very good. Can't wait to see what happens and if Pippin and Farimir get to finish their book. I loved the flashback with Boromir.

shirebound · 17 July 2004 · Chapter 1: A Tale Once Woven, Now Frozen

Oh, I'm already hooked on this story! Faramir truly awoke to such grief, with brother and father gone, and his city under siege -- I know that Pippin will be a wonderful influence on his mood.

eiluj · 17 July 2004 · Chapter 0: Author's Notes

Ah, a Brother Cadfael fan! Ellis Peters was the penname of Edith Pargeter. She wrote mysteries (about half concerning Brother Cadfael) as Ellis Peters, but published historical fiction as Edith Pargeter. I've read most of the mysteries at one time or another, but never any of the historical fiction. If you can't find some of her rarer titles easily, you can always ask your public library to Interlibrary Loan them for you.

Author's reply

Hi eiluj, I'm actually a big mystery fan, with Brother Cadfael being one of my favorites. I knew that Ellis Peters was the penname of Edith Pargeter but wasn't really sure how to reference that here. And of course, it's a Brother Cadfael mystery that has for many months been sitting on my nightstand half read. Someday when I win the Lottery, I will spend as much time as I feel like reading a bizillion books. Nijijin
