I have no idea if you'll see this after all this time. I just spent the past two months working through this series. This is one of the most beautiful collections of stories I have ever read. I laughed and I cried. I'm so glad I stumbled across this site and your stories. Thank you for sharing.

shirebound · 18 March 2012 · Chapter 49: Demand and You Shall Receive

I just wanted you to know that I still read these adorable stories, I still love them, and I'm so happy you wrote them.

Author's reply

Thank you so very much! (((((HUGS))))) I miss writing these little looks at the hobbits as children. It is so very sweet of you to let me know that you still enjoy them. They make me think of a time when everyone was writing and all of us were having such fun! Now and again, I get the urge to write more of these. The next time that happens, maybe I will. : )

Dreamflower · 23 January 2011 · Chapter 37: Strike While the Iron is Hot

I just wanted you to know I just re-read this, and I love it just as much now as I did when you first wrote it for me! (((hugs))))

When I got the alert that I had a review of this series, I was baffled. (a bit like Freddy is in this story.) It's been so long since I wrote anything for this one that I thought perhaps it was a very, very, very, late notification! LOL Anyway, I am very glad that you *still* like this one. It was a great deal of fun to write and I thank you for the plot bunny that set it in motion. Here's to the good ole days, when the stories were plentiful and the fandom was at its height! Cheers!

Golden · 23 December 2009 · Chapter 59: Warming the Bench (newest in the series in spite of posting order)

*laughes* What a great and hilarious conversation! Golden

Author's reply

Hey, Golden! Good to hear from you. I wondered where you'd disappeared to. Haven't seen you on LJ or here in a while. Thanks for the review and I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Have a very happy holiday season!

Dreamflower · 31 July 2009 · Chapter 59: Warming the Bench (newest in the series in spite of posting order)

I'm sitting here quietly turning blue as I hold in my laughter--if I pass out it will be all your fault! (See, I'm learning something from Pippin: blame it on someone else!) Of course it's my own fault, I already knew how funny it was before I started re-reading at 5AM. But I'm so glad you put it here--and I think your reason for the numbering makes perfect sense to me! Now you are at the round number of 60, which will be a good place to stop. But you mustn't stop writing Merry and Pip stories. I suppose it's time to open up "Trust a Took and a Brandybuck II".

Author's reply

When I first read this I thought the thing you'd learned from Pippin had to do with the color blue, as in blue paint on the bench! LOL Now I realize that you meant you'd learned to blame others. hehehe I'm glad you see the reasoning. I sometimes do a bit of Pip logic on my own and then no one gets it. I really did think I was through posting to this group but this story just fits here and whatever else, I did want that one story as the ending one for obvious reasons. Trust a Took and a Brandybuck II? Catchy title. I'll give that some thought... Thanks for stopping by to read a second time.

Larner · 30 July 2009 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

How beautiful to read this again--and SO Merry and Pippinish! Hooray! And I'm so glad that Arwen listened! Yes!

Author's reply

Thanks for reviewing this one and re-reading. It's always nice when someone returns to read again. : )

Andrea · 30 July 2009 · Chapter 59: Warming the Bench (newest in the series in spite of posting order)

"I’ve seen you do it when you were cold but I wouldn’t consider it a habit of yours. Is shivering a habit of yours as well?" "I sit like this when I’m alone. You can’t have noticed it before now because when I’m alone, you aren’t there. And I am not shivering!" ROTFL!!! Now, that's logical, indeed :-) I enjoyed this conversation a great deal! Some comedians could learn a lot from those two. There had to be a very good reason why Pippin was sitting on that splendid blue-painted, well-crafted, position-optimised, non-rickety walnut-bench for hours and hours conversing with the most fascinating people and without ANY beer ;-) Thank you for making me laugh, G.W.!

Author's reply

So glad you enjoyed this. I had fun trying to do it all without anything other than dialogue. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing and most of all, for laughing. I just love that!

nancylea57 · 17 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Merry's Doorway

how can you deny errol a safe bed to sleep in and let;s face it he probably wants the wuiet more than merry.

Author's reply

LOL Yes, sometimes I am very certain that Errol must really long for peace and quiet. Thank you so much for stopping by to read this little story. It is much appreciated.

mews1945 · 16 December 2008 · Chapter 3: Merry's Doorway

I hadn't read this before. I'm so glad Shirebound put it in today's Vaults of Fluffdom recs. It's so heartwarming and sweet.

Author's reply

What a surprise to find a reveiw for this little story! Thank you. This was the very first story that I ever wrote involving 'Errol' and at the time I thought it was a one-shot deal. Thank you for the reveiw. And I shall have to thank Shirebound for including this one in her 'Vaults of Fluffdom'.

pippinsgirl · 30 April 2008 · Chapter 9: A Matter of trust

OMG POOR PIP!!! I love this tho! me and my brother are the same age difference as Merry and Pip. when he got home from school I asked him if I could paint him green...... and he said yes. my brother seems like Pip in alot of scene, and I'm his Merry

Author's reply

LOL So you have a real-life Pippin right at home! That's funny! I'm glad you enjoyed this and thank you for the review. Let me know if you *do* paint him green.

pippinsgirl · 29 April 2008 · Chapter 25: There are Friends and then there's Merry

This is a good story. it would make scence why poor Pip dosen't like playing blind hobbit. we did a game simler to that over summer and suprizling I didn't fall over. lol

Author's reply

I'm glad you didn't fall over during your version of this game. Falling with your eyes covered would be rather dangerous. Thank you for reading this one and giving it a new review!

pippinsgirl · 29 April 2008 · Chapter 5: Here kitty, Kitty

*laughs until she is out of breath* OMG I LOVE THIS *chuckles again* Pergun! Bobo! he has a very impressive vocublary for a three-year-old

Author's reply

Pip does have a way with words, doesn't he? LOL

pippinsgirl · 29 April 2008 · Chapter 4: Bucket!

Oh I love this! I could imagen poor Pippin getting his head stuck in a bucket! and then him calling Merry and Pervinca useless

Author's reply

I'm so glad you are enjoying these. It's nice to get new reviews on stories that I wrote some time ago. Thank you for reading!

pippinsgirl · 9 April 2008 · Chapter 26: Fire in the Hole!

I must be as bad as Merry cause I couldn't stop laughing!!

Author's reply

hehehe I love it when people laugh while reading these. Thank you for stopping by and reviewing.

GamgeeFest · 5 April 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

This was so sweet! Only hobbits could make such a light subject out of their own deaths, and I am glad that Merry will not have to spend all of eternity in that awful teal waistcoat. :)

Author's reply

I never could seem to write this part of Merry and Pippin's life until this idea came to me. I just don't do sad well at all. hehehe Glad you enjoyed it!

pippinsgirl · 30 March 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

I love that story. Pippin was right tho. it does seem like Merry would be eternal, Pippin too for that matter. I know that they do eventually die, but it's just so hard to believe tho you know? Most of the stories I've read about one of them dying always has to do with Merry dying first, then Pippin dying a day later. that could be expected though, nothing could break them apart, not even death, and that's telling us all something. the story made me both laugh and cry at the same time.

Author's reply

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really never expected to write this sort of story because I tend to stay away from the very sad topics but this idea just came to me and here you are. Thank you for the lovely review.

Jeodo Brandybuck · 7 March 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

Oh, how wonderful you are! What a great story! Jeodo

Author's reply

Thank you! It's the one story I didn't think I'd ever try to write and then this came to me. I guess you never know. Or I never know. hehehe Thanks for reviewing! It was good hearing from you again. (Are you still writing? I'd love to see a new story by you. hint, hint, and hint again)

Hai Took · 25 February 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

That is probably the best "ending" I've read to their lives in some time. It was sad but you kept most of it away by making Merry and Pippin their usualy selves. I really enjoyed it, thank you for the story!

Author's reply

I did hope to keep it from being too very sad. I don't like to write sad stories and so I never expected to write a death fiction but with this one I tried to stay away from the angst and dwell on the fact that they were together and happy. Thanks so much for reveiwing!

Pearl Took · 25 February 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

I'm crying. It was happy, sad, beautiful and perfect as are all your stories . . . well, baring the sad part, many of your stories, GW, aren't sad at all, but this one added that to the mix and it worked so very well. MEWD several times over!

Author's reply

Awww, now I didn't mean for anyone to cry. Sorry about that. Seriously, I wondered if anyone would take this for a serious attempt since I *did* skip most of the angst. I'm very glad you enjoyed it. It is less light-hearted than my usual stuff. I don't even know why I wrote this one. It just came to me and the next thing I knew I was typing away. Thanks for reviewing!

Andrea · 25 February 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

“Race you to Over-heaven,” Pippin grinned and out of the window they went. Wonderful story, GW! And it doesn't need a warning. If death is like that, there is no need to be afraid :) I loved that bit about the waistcoat!

Author's reply

I never could read many of the death fics because I so hated to think of Merry and Pippin gone from Middle earth and so when I got this idea I decided to write my own version of events. So glad you liked it! And I could hear Merry complaining about that waistcoat. hehehe

Larner · 25 February 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

My friend, ONLY YOU could get such a giggle out of this subject! Thanks so much! Oh, I love it! And I'm so glad they could let Arwen know NOT to dress Merry in that waistcoat! Heh!

Author's reply

See, this is really as close to angst as I can get. As you can see, I didn't let them do too much grieving here. I'm so glad that you liked it. Thank you for reviewing.

Garnet Took · 25 February 2008 · Chapter 60: The Adventure Continues

I loved this, GW. It was perfect for the week I just had. It was reassuring to see the two hobbits looking at death as the next great adventure to go on. Pippin's grief at the beginning was believable, and the whole thing with him thinking Merry was a dream was so right.:) The bit with the waistcoat was priceless. I had to laugh a little when Arwen told Aragorn that she just knew Merry hated that particular waistcoat. Something tells me that the presence of Merry and Pippin will be felt in Minas Tirith for a long time.

Author's reply

Thank you, Garnet. I do hope the coming week is better for you. You deserve a smile or two. If you'll notice I didn't write too much of the grief because I just don't really do angst well. I did think it might be amusing if Merry were concerned about what he was to wear after death. I'm glad that you enjoyed the issue of the waistcoat. I do like to think that they were remembered in Minas Tirith and that even at times, some folks did feel them close at hand. Thank you for reading!
