Thanks, Shirebound! I love that image in the book, when Sam is holding Frodo and they are both just perfectly happy to be together again, to be in that moment, regardless of what trials await them still.

Auntiemeesh, You've done a fine job with this scene. I remember watching it a couple of days ago when I got my copy of "Return of the King", and you have captured the essence of Frodo's thoughts and feelings with remarkable clarity. The profound loss, the sadness, the despair...all come through so vividly in your writing. Keep up the good work!

Thanks RogerGamgee, I was listening to a song that summoned up for me that same sense of despair and sadness and this scene just kept popping into my head, so I had to write it.
