ElvenFairMaiden · 29 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Frodo Baggins
Wow! These poems are great...I am writing a whole series of the thoughts of the Fellowship during their long and tiresome journey to Mount Doom. You have a good talent in writing poetry, keep it up!
Author's reply
Why thank you! I have another series (albeit only 4) poems finished that I will be posting soon...Please do read the other Fellowship poems and the new ones as well and please let me know what you think!
OakWolf · 28 May 2004 · Chapter 9: Legolas Greenleaf
This is for Gimili and Legolas-Woohoo!Still say Aragorn's is the best but I like the verses of Legolas, all in all,Jolly Good!
shirebound · 28 May 2004 · Chapter 7: Boromir
Destined to lead as Future Steward of Gondor Her bright shining star So sad! What a tragedy that Boromir's shining destiny was cut short.
Author's reply
Oh I agree - it was a shame - but you know I have to wonder if Boromir's death, like Denethor's, was perhaps the best thing for where Aragorn was concerned. I believe Boromir would have followed Aragorn but you have to wonder once he was back with his father, would Denethor have influenced Boromir to turn against Aragorn again? Anyway, thanks for reviewing!
shirebound · 28 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Frodo Baggins
Oooh, nice. You give us an adult, thoughtful Frodo, making the only choice he could make.
Author's reply
Thank you, shirebound, for your review! Author Reply: P.S. - Please do read and review the other poems I have posted!
Ariaste · 27 May 2004 · Chapter 8: Gimli, Son of Glóin
*deep breath* I think they are good, but haiku really isn't my style. *twitch* In other words...Love the content, Hate the form. But you did a better job than I could have done.
Author's reply
Thanks - I think... And technically I am writing poems based off of haiku form but they're not haikus as I have too many syllables in the verses...
OakWolf · 25 May 2004 · Chapter 6: Aragorn
oh double groovy!I have yet to read Boromir's verses but I say Aragorn's are the best yet, dont mean to be rude but any hint when Legolas's poem is arriving?
Author's reply
OakWolf, Hi - thank you for your kind reviews and your comments! And to answer your question about when I wil post the verses for Legolas, well his will come last as I want to post Gimli’s next and I included a quote from the appendices in the back of “The Return of the King” and I think it is an appropiate place to end this set of poems. I cannot say on exactly what day I will post the Legolas poem as I am not planning on posting the last two poems together but it will be posted around Sunday or Monday if I had to guess... Thanks again!
Lera · 23 May 2004 · Chapter 5: Gandalf the Grey
Those were all beautiful. I love poetry like yours, especially when I already know the characters so well. I will definitely look forward to reading the other four character poems.
Author's reply
Thank you, Lera! Stay tuned, the next two poems will be posted on May 25th in honor of the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King onto DVD!
OakWolf · 18 May 2004 · Chapter 3: Meriadoc Brandybuck
awww,a lovely poem."Laid to rest by Pippin’s side in Rath Dínen Among Gondor’s Kings"Beautifully heart tugging exscuse me(grabs a tissue)sorry, touched by lovely writing.
Author's reply
OakWolf: Thank you - and gosh I am honored that I touched you with my writing! The next haiku will debut on Thursday and most likely posted sometime after midnight if SoA remains up until after that time! Thank you again!
Lindelea · 18 May 2004 · Chapter 3: Meriadoc Brandybuck
Very nice! A capsule biography. You capture so much, in such an economy of words. Laid to rest by Pippin’s side in Rath Dínen Among Gondor’s Kings It still makes me catch my breath.
Author's reply
*grins* Awwwww, thanks!
Lindelea · 18 May 2004 · Chapter 2: Samwise Gamgee
I guess these aren't the same... I don't remember reading this one before. Faithful companion Through Mordor’s trials and fires Hope ever ablaze "Hope ever ablaze", what an apt description. And the last line, of his reunion with Frodo, was fitting.
Author's reply
*grins* Nope this is an entire new collection of haikus, separate from the Grey Shores and Other LOTR haikus... Oh yes Hope ever ablaze was such an apt and I wonder nearly perfect desciption of Sam... And always I must write of Frodo and Sam's reunion in the West because I thoroughly believe they saw one another again... Thanks again!
Lindelea · 18 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Frodo Baggins
Hullo, did you delete the former story? I was sure I'd left reviews before, and that there were more chapters. No matter. I am enjoying this piece all over again (if it is the one I saw before. If not, don't mind my ramblings) I see you've been refining your work. These lines grabbed at my heartstrings: “This peace will not last.” So says his heart while gazing At the calm valley “Soon I must depart And face peril unknown but do so willingly.”
Author's reply
Nope, I did not delete the former story - I have not taken The Fellowship set down since I began publishing them Sunday... And thank you - I am trying to make each haiku better, and more conforming to the 5-7-5 rule - to say nothing of making of trying to make the words grab the readers more...
OakWolf · 16 May 2004 · Chapter 2: Samwise Gamgee
awwww,Love the ending still too bad about Rosie :*( Any hint about which hero comes next?
Author's reply
Well, OakWolf, I will say this: it is one of the other two hobbits left in the Fellowship... And thanks for reading my haiku! Stay tuned!
OakWolf · 15 May 2004 · Chapter 1: Frodo Baggins
Well done,I cant wait for the rest of the fellowship. might you allow your readers a preview or two?
Author's reply
Oakwolf: Thanks for reviewing the first chapter of "The Fellowship"... I just wanted to say thank you and to tell you I have completed chapters for the remaining members of the Fellowship. Most likely I will be posting the chapters over the next week or so, so do be on the lookout! Thanks again and I hope you'll read and comment on each chapter!
