· Chapter 1: Ailurophobia
The creatures had found his sneezing to be a great source of amusement and climbed on his bed and throne and shoulders at any given moment. Their fur managed to creep in everywhere; his clothes, his mouth, his eyes. On numerous occasions he had walked in his chambers to find one comfortably napping on his pillow. Not long ago, one of their females had given birth on his robes and even his orcs cowered before the talons of the hissing female cat.
Whatever their qualities were, they were hardly worth the trouble they had brought with them.
Walking in this hall to find two of them copulating on his throne had been their final insult.
*Grin* too funny. That's cats alright. Serves Melkor right. I do feel sorry for the Prince of Cats though.
I think this is the last of your animal stories, I've read them all now. I really enjoyed them. You write the creatures very well--as themselves, not human caricatures. You are an excellent writer.

Thanks, Elliska. That's the reason I write from animal POVs. I want to give them each their own unigue voice. I'm glad you thought it worked.

I've finaly gotten to read this, I would have sooner but I kept forgetting. One almost feels sorry for Melkor.
That sheds a light on cats: They are either friends or enemies for no one can tell them what to do.
Great original story!

Ooh, I enjoyed this - wonderful! Although it doesn't put cats in a very good light: turning on their own leader because of banishment due to their own actions...
Your humour is just like a cat's: sly and mishevious - and spot on!

Hey, thanks for reading!

Perhaps. On the other hand, they never view their actions as wrong (God forbid). And cats do not have masters, as a saying goes. They have servants.
I know mine do.

Hooomm!
Nice job! I'm not a cat person myself, but I enjoy someone's work that takes root in some unexplored corner! Tolkien said he left 'gaps' for people who came after him. Keep looking for unexplored territory! Two thumbs up for limb crawling!

Thanks! Someone told me of this character and I just HAD to know more about him. I never thought I would actually turn this to a story, but the damned nazgul wouldn't let go.

This definitely comes under the heading of finding some obscure corner of fandom and writing a really terrific piece about it.
This was an unexpected pleasure. People shall be tossing cat ideas at you right and left. You shall be the go-to gal on feline fanficdom.

*sigh* As if there wasn't enough mayhem in my head already... I have to study for my exams next week and now I have the thought of "kitty meets nazgul" in my head.

You know, I never thought I'd say it. . . Poor Morgoth! ;D I suppose it takes a cat person to understand. They shed. They shed *everywhere.* Yes, they *will* sleep on your pillow. Yes, they *will* sit on your shoulders. Yes, they *will* have kittens wherever it is that they're not supposed to. :D I'm glad to see you write another story about cats! This was great. When I saw it on the main page, I just *had* to read it!

I'm glad that you found my cats to be in character. I was not sure of how an allergic Melkor would come out, but it proved out to be decent.
