· Chapter 52: Beginnings in Rohan
That was just wonderful - I've been going mad with impatience to see what would happen when Faramir got to Edoras, but that was worth the wait. I have a feeling this chapter is a sort of set-up for the plotlines that'll be important in the nextw hile (If I'm wrong, well, so be it). I am starting to worry about Éomer though - he seems a little unrelenting in his dislike of Faramir, something almost, well selfish about it. I mean of course I am willing to cut him a huge amount of slack - but if he loves Éowyn as much as he obviously does, it seems a little unfair of him to treat Faramir with such rudeness in front of her - especially as it's embarassing her as well. I know I'm rambling here - it's hard to say exactly what it is I mean
I'm becoming increasingly hopeful that we'll see and Aragorn-Arwen fight - which may seem a little odd, but I've been itching for Aragorn to be taken down a peg or two in this story, and your Arwen definitely seems like the woman to do it. I think she could develop a very interesting friendship with Éowyn but my guess is that such a friendship is contingent upon two outside factors 1) Éowyn getting over her insecurity vis-a-vis her looks, and 2)some kind of breakthrough whereby Éowyn won't feel so dreadful about wanting Aragorn when he had Arwen (though for some reason I actually see that more likely to emerge from an Éowyn-Aragorn moment than an Éowyn-Arwen moment - I don't know why.)
Anyway keep up the good work. Because this chapter especially was really, really good.
Author's reply
It's hard for Eomer and I'll get to the exact reason later, along with many other things that explain his deep anxieties about her.
Aragorn and Arwen--well, it's hard to describe because
1. I don't want to have them doubting each other and yet...Arwen keeps getting out of her "character" so to speak as being perfectly serene with her leaving her people, even though she clearly wasn't. It is hard to say exactly what I mean, you know? i guess i'll just have to show it the best i can later.
2. They're not perfect, no one in this story is and they will fight. Aragorn is going to come to terms with his "perfect woman" because she isn't perfect and she isn't going to sit there and be a wife. Like Eowyn, Arwen is not a doormat. These are both very strong females who have a lot in common.
About Arwen/Eowyn friendship---has my muse been talking? ;) LOL, maybe you're just very perceptive. I can't wait to get to it. Arwen has two weeks alone with Eowyn in Edoras and then plenty of time with her in Minas Tirith. My story, ya'll, just to warn you ;) won't end with the F/E wedding, just like LotR didn't end with the ring's destruction. So brace yourselves, okay? :D

Well, I've been a bad reader and haven't reviewed for a long time. I still quite like this story, although I've always been a little disatisfied with your Aragorn - I like him sometimes, but I don't think you always give him enougth credit.
I like your Arwen so far, and that she is going to try to be friends with Eowyn - they have very different backgrounds for the most part, so your making both of their brothers over protective is not only amusing, but gives them something in common to help a friendship start.
I think your chapters are getting longer, but I don't mind that at all :)
Author's reply
Oh, Aragorn's off doing kingly things that we don't see because
1. this is primarily Faramir/Eowyn/Eomer story with supporting cast
2. Kingly stuff is boring. Sorry.
I'm glad everyone likes Arwen, I tried hard to think of how she could act and this nice, pleasant, mature woman popped in to watch Eowyn running her hounds and in my head she asked, "Why haven't I been allowed to do that? Look at her--she's a fragile mortal...she killed the Witchking and they didn't put her back under supervision...she's off running around, not only doing men's stuff, but alone!"
So, my Arwen is a bit intimidated and envious and naturally wants to get to know this unusual woman. :D I do like her a lot. MovieArwen? I wish she would have stuck to offscreen. !Retch! Way overused and simply underscoring the fact she was useless. My Arwen is not useless, she will help Eowyn deal with her "cage" theory when it comes to marriage. Whoa, getting into too much ranting..better go. Thanks for stopping to review!

Nice work on the developing relationship between Arwen and Eowyn. It's nice to see that Miss Elven Perfection 3019 isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, or her dress bloody to help deliver a foal. Eomer's awestruck reaction to her was also well-written. Arwen and Eowyn have their brothers' over-protectiveness in common, among other things.
But I'm getting a little tired of the Rohirrim's attitude towards Faramir as Eowyn's prospective bridegroom. It started out as an amusing, and not inaccurate, extrapolation on Eomer's natural instinct to protect his sister. Now the masculine one-upmanship and teasing seems to have become more mean-spirited; and frankly, I hope Faramir is going to kick some Rohirric butt in terms of showing off his own skills. I'm surprised that Aragorn didn't mention to Eomer that he wouldn't want his Steward insulted, but this Aragorn is indulging his own interests and passions rather than thinking like the King he has just started to be. I wonder how the Rohirrim would feel if Prince Imrahil and his sons constantly teased and belittled Eomer when he eventually became interested in Lothiriel of Dol Amroth, rather than offering him friendship, not to mention requiring him to drop his responsibilities to his domain and come prove himself as a sailor in Dol Amroth.
Still looking forward to future chapters, but I hope that the Rohirrim will change their attitude.
Author's reply
Yep, once the Arwen/Eowyn alliance is formed they are going to be quite a handful for our poor men. ;) Not too bad, though.
And, here it comes...OH! COME ON!!! THE ROHIRRIM ARE.JUST.MESSING.WITH.HIM!! I thought that was clear, i mean they were cracking up the whole time, setting up that gag just to see what Faramir would do. THey're not mean, just a little mischievious, they're getting a new playmate and they want to play!! I mean, Rohirrim live and breathe battle--those insults were little tests, feints if you will, they want to see what he's like, what he will do. I promise up and down they will never do anything that's mean or excessively violent to him. He is a man of noble blood, even if they don't know him and they respect that to an extent. Halorl was correct in warning that it won't be easy but its a good-natured sort of testing.
Yes, yes, Faramir will commence with the kicking of butt, eventually, when he actually GETS in uniform. However, this entire thing with Faramir coming to Rohan wasn't just Eomer's protectiveness...he's stalling for time and MAJORLY. He doesn't want to be alone and he's going to have to let Eowyn go, so what does he do? Scheme and throw a little attitude and what do you know? Faramir bought it hook, line and sinker. Soooooo, here we are in Rohan.
Aragorn is going to be running Minas Tirith solo now and he's not going to have as much time for fun anymore. No one to fall back upon or delegate duties to. Poor guy, going to have to run the place.

Yay! A nice long chapter! This is a truly excellent story, keep up the good work. Why do I think that Arwen and Eowyn are going to be good friends when they finally get to know each other? :)
Author's reply
Because it would be cruel of me not to make them friends, lol? They're going to be good/bad influences on each other--remember when Aragorn escorts Frodo and Co. home he leaves Arwen in Edoras.....hint, hint, minor hijinks. :D Glad everyone's been staying with these marathon chapters!

Yes, they are getting longer. And longer. And *longer*. But we don't mind. :)
So much content; where ever do I begin? I suppose by first saying you've managed to create a much more loveable Arwen then the *movie* Arwen that stole so much of other people's time (Like having her at Helm's Deep instead of Eomer. Thank goodness that *mostly* didn't make it through). And, before anyone flames me, I loved Liv Tylers portrayal of Arwen; I just thought her scenes were a little overdone.
Once again, I love how you perfectly portray Eomer. His attitude is awesome. :)
A trophy? Pet? Man, that has to bruise Faramir's ego. If it was me, I would have lost my temper in a heartbeat. I wonder how Eowyn would feel if she knew her people thought such things about their relationship.....
I'm certain there was more I wished to speak about, but after an hour of reading, I cannot remember what. Well, off to wait for the next update. :)
Author's reply
Oh, god ,don't get me started on Movie!Arwen...long before the movie was over I was praying she would die and a horribly painful death at that!!
I like my Arwen--I imagine her as brave, passionate, mannerly and basically a nice person who has had a huge amount of flattery that she really doesn't care for. I mean, Aragorn got her attention the first time by bragging his lineage, lol.
That's what the entire scene with Eomer in Meduseld was about--Arwen DIDNT want him to love her, why would she? She'd rather have a friend than another worshipping male.
Also, I think Arwen was probably just as intimidated by Eowyn as vice versa, because, come on, Eowyn (with Merry) went out there and killed the Witchking...that's like killing Hitler if you gave him evil super powers--very intimidating for an elvish princess who I imagine hasn't done much stuff like that. I think she's probably been fairly sheltered, especially after her mother.
OH, you guys! the Rohirrim are JUST. MESSING. WITH. HIM. Geez! the way you people stick up for Faramir! LOL! Of course they don't really think that, they want to see what he's going to do!
He does have 2 friends so far...I've been pimping Halorl and Gaer every chance I got and why? Because they're going to be Faramir's buddies--so dont' think he's out there all alone with those naughty Rohirrim!

EomerofEastfold, I hope you don't mind me butting in--I just couldn't resist! Aragorn has proven himself, that much is true, but so has Faramir--and many times over. If Eomer doubts him, he need only ask any of the Ithilien Rangers, or pretty much *any citizen of Minas Tirith*, for that matter. And what of Aragorn, or Imrahil (Book!Imrahil, not AllforHer!Imrahil), or Gandalf? Eomer formed bonds with all of these men between Helm's Deep and the Morannon. Surely he would defer to their judgments of Faramir? I'm sure if asked, any of them could sing his praises from here to the Undying Lands. :-)
Sorry for taking up all your review space, SoundofHorns! Please do update soon--I'm going through severe Faz withdrawal! The last chapter seemed a bit slow, but all the Rohirric is certainly impressive. I trust the next chapter will not be so Fazless...??
Author's reply
Faz hehe, makes me laugh everytime. Yep, more Faz, less Eowyn in next chapter. Long chapter, whew! But, as long as no one minds, I can write and write to my heart's content.
But, still, why would Eomer listen to praises when he can see for himself and make sure? Nothing's too good when it comes to his little sister.
And, remember he's had to deal with Grima's slimy words and I'd imagine after years of that seeing actually BECAME believing. Not to compare Aragorn, Gandalf and such to Grima...gods no! But still, the habit undoubtedly formed.
So, onward, and i dont care about the review space, this is interesting and proves everyone's paying attention! ;)

Raksha,
I might agree with you on Faramir's riding skills, at least so far that he would be a better rider than the average Gondorian, perhaps on par with the Dunedain or Elves. Still, even Elvish folk aren't as accomplished riders as the Rohirrim, which is how the horselords are so famous for their skills.
As for putting Aragorn through the same test, no, they would not. He had already proven his worth to them, having ridden with King Thengel in his younger days, as well as fighting at Helm's Deep and such. I can't say anything about Denethor, though he would likely care little if Eomer wanted to put Faramir through sheer hell before he married Eowyn, which is not what he's doing. He simply wants his sister to marry a good man, and Faramir must prove that he is that man, and by Rohirric standards.
Author's reply
LOL, EomerofEastfold is here championing my Rohirrim...why do I bother showing up? ;)
Though, um, (twiddles fingers, looks around) the "sheer hell" hmmm...mabye just a bit of hell... Rohan isn't an easy place like I'd imagine Gondor to be--Rohan is wilder, wider and harsher, the better to test our Steward. BUT, he has support! I swear! Eowyn will support him and help him as well as his Rohirrim friends will, so he's not all alone. Eomer won't be that bad, really, I mean, he wants him to win because the longer he's there the more apparent E/F love is. Soooo....I need to go start writing, huh?

You mentioned in your comment to another reviewer that Faramir knows no more about horses than the average person, and will have a lot to learn from Rohirric horse whisperers. I'm not sure about that. Beregond stated in ROTK that Faramir could master beasts and men; and Faramir was able to bring his horse back to his men under the assault of the Nazgul on their flying beasties; I would think that might take more than average ability to ride. Faramir might not be quite in the league of the best of the Rohirrim; but he should be better than average in terms of handling horses.
Would the Rohirrim put Aragorn through such a detailed initiation if he were seeking Eowyn's hand? Doubt it. And I bet they wouldn't be if Denethor were still alive and Steward and not crazy.
Raksha, eager for the next chapter
Author's reply
Well, darn you people take this literally!! Faramir's not a dolt, he can ride and he can master beast and men (thanks to his gift, which we WILL see in some action later in the eored and with the horse the Rohirrim provide for him) But PATIENCE!!!! I cant get to everything at once!! Geez!!
But, nitpicking like that gives me confidence that people are reading, remembering and enjoying...so...yay. :D Big smile.

First of all let me say your use of Rohirric is impressive. Is it really Anglo-Saxon or a language Tolkien developed?
I'm really enjoying your story but it occurred to me that we haven't read much about King Theoden's funeral. I've either forgotten I read about it (and I appologise if I have) or it hasn't happened yet. I know in the book Eowyn leaves when they take the King to Rohan to be buried. Are we going to read about the funeral? I think it could provide some nice comforting moments for Faramir and Eowyn. ;)
Author's reply
Furneral hasnt happened yet. King Theoden's funeral will be in chapter 53 and while i wont spend huge time on it, there will be a bit of comforting :) The end of 52 is Faramir arriving in Rohan with the funeral party, so he's FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY THERE.
Odd. You know, this story started in my head with him already there...man, it was just going to be SEVEN, CAN YOU IMAGINE? SEVEN chapters once...apparently a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... LOL.
Author Reply: Whoops, forgot the Rohirric. Its really Anglo-Saxon. I havent found anything of Tolkien's to use, so I've used the Old English and wow, that stuff can be tough! Glad you appreciate it! I think it shows I DO try and makes up for any mistakes elsewhere.(hopefully) :)

For Raksha the Demon,
To counter your "If not for Cirion, the Rohirrim wouldn't have Rohan," I must point out that, without Eorl, Gondor would have long been destroyed. Plus, the Rohirrim are a proud people that keep to their own culture as opposed to assimilating with other men, so any outsider would indeed have to "prove themselves" to earn their respect. It's really nothing against Faramir at all.
Author's reply
Thank you EomerofEastfold, for putting that better than I probably could. Its nothing against Faramir--i promise they wont hate him--its he has to come and actually do something other than show up and go, "Hi, I'm Prince Faramir. Everyone says I'm a good warrior, so I guess you can just believe it."
And yes, the Rohirrim are a bit xenophobic (spelling? ha) and i'm going to show that with the elves and then Faramir. I got the feeling from the way bookEomer spoke with Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli about Lorien and Galadriel that it wasn't just his attitude, it was an overall feeling in Rohan that different=strange and possibly dangerous.

· Chapter 50: Summer Part I
I'm getting a bit tired of Eomer and the Rohirrim being so high-and-mighty towards Faramir's suit of Eowyn. First of all, if not for Faramir's ancestor Cirion, Eomer would not be sitting pretty atop Edoras, he and his people wouldn't even have Rohan. Second, Faramir is not an outcast with no kin in Rohan; Morwen of Lossarnach, grandmother of Eomer and Eowyn, was a lady of high Numenorean blood and a distant kinswoman of Imrahil of Dol Amroth. Faramir would be aware of both these facts.
I really like the way you've written the Rohirrim's love for and ease with their horses into the story. You seem to know a lot about horses, and it shows.
Aragorn's asking Faramir if he'd like to see Aragorn naked - heeee! Aragorn has a teasing streak a mile wide.
And poor, poor Eowyn - running into the immaculate Imladris bridal party, including Miss Elven Perfection 3019, while in a disheveled and muddy condition has got to be the most horrible thing to happen to her since she got stung by the Witch-King.
Please update again soon!
Author's reply
Well, I'll let EomerofEastfold answer the first paragraph (he does it quite well) and you can see my reply. But, to add, how would Halorl know about Morwen? He's just one of Eomer's aides and Faramir didn't know what he was saying.
ANYWAY, I'm actually a caretaker on a Welsh Pony breeding farm; i mainly feed but also water and check over 45 animals, mostly ponies, but a few horses too. We just had another foal born and its SO cute. I've done it for almost 5 years and live there for almost 9 so I have a lot of information about horses to fall back on, which I think helps the story as well. Faramir doesn't know all this detailed stuff about horses--he can ride, but no more than the average person, so when he's around these Rohirrim "horse-whisperers" he's going to be a little lost but he'll pick it up. He's a fast learner. :)
I want Aragorn to be a bit naughty--he can relax and be happy for the first time. No pressure to save all the peoples of Middle-Earth...can you imagine the weight that takes off his shoulders?
Yes, poor Eowyn. LOL!! Miss Elven Perfection 3019!! Awesome.
I'll update as soon as I can and I promise at the end of the next chapter we will have our Faramir/Eowyn reunion!! :D Can't wait!

Author's reply
Yep, the elves are there for i think 2 days. Its a rather unusual occurence in Rohan. I'm not sure Arwen and Eowyn interact much at first; its more along the lines of Eomer and Arwen. He's rather overwhelmed by her beauty, yet, he has other thoughts, too as he gets used to it. Elrohir and Elladan get some time with Eowyn. Faramir comes in too, in Gondor with some observations of Arwen.

Wow, that was long chapter! Not sure how long it took me to read it, but it was a while. :)
Poor Eowyn. It seems she feels that she's going to end up in the very cage she dreads. Will Eomer and Faramir ever convince her that they love her and only desire what is best for her, without infringing upon her freedom? I mean, she may have ridden to Gondor and slain the Witch King, but that's not going to stop them from wanting to keep her safe. It's not that they think she's weak; they just would not be able to bear it if she were harmed.
Are you a psychology student, by chance? Your charactarizations are so vivid that one would think you had studied it.
Author's reply
over 11,000 words!!! Wooooo! New record! And, by the way, I had to cut it off to post, it wanted to KEEP GOING!
Exactly, they dont want her harmed while she wants to go and do what she's basically always done--mannish things. Only this time Eomer's stuck being king and without Theodred he's forced to watch her go off alone. So of course he's worried! Faramir would be too!
Eowyn is staring that cage in the face and while she loves Faramir and wants to be with him, those bars are looking awfully close. She has to figure out that she, not Faramir or her brother, has to find something for herself to do...a career. I see her as almost a modern woman stuck in Arda; like a lot of women today she wants it all (and she should get it)--a career and a man w/a few children. ;) This is going to be a thing in the story that Eowyn has to find a way to express herself that is acceptable to Gondor society and not horribly shocking. Faramir has to find a way to blend into Rohirric society and in that he's going to be pushed further and further away from his "roots" so to speak. He's actually going to change.
Wow, i've never been asked if i study anything. ;) I'm not a psychology student, that is unless you count missing/sleeping/doodling through psych 101 last sememster in college. (hey, got a B, so go me!) I took it in high school too, though. Thanks for the compliment on the characterizations, its hot and i'm hungry, but hey, i'm having a good day now. :D

Oh poor Éowyn - these things just keep happening to her don't they. First Aragorn and now this. Is there any hope that just once she'll have a moment that won't be absolutely mortifying? Éomer must be driving her crazy. The way they act around each other is very real but one wonders how long before she explodes at him.
I'm sorry - I know Aragorn is king and everything, but I'm starting to think that he really deserves a smack in the mouth. Of course I'd prefer if Éowyn got to deliver it, but Faramir would be perfectly justified. It's not the thing itself, so much as the fact that he keeps talking about it. (Or secret option three in which Arwen catchs him talking like that and lets fly - actually I'd kind of like to see it!)
Anyway - keep up the good work!

Your story is great fun, but I have a couple of bones to pick, if you don't mind! Holy crap is Eowyn a tease! Seems to me poor Faz is quite a bit more smitten with her than vice-versa. I can understand her reservations about men in general, considering her past, but she truly needs to learn to appreciate the poor boy. Hopefully she will learn to miss him properly before he gets to Edoras. Maybe Eowyn needs to be reminded of Faz's inability to walk around Minas Tirith without dozens of swooning Gondorrim women throwing themselves at his feet. Let's face it--Faramir's the most eligible bachelor in all of Gondor! He's handsome, intelligent, charming, courageous, talented, skillful, gentle, romantic, sweet--the Perfect Man, basically (but I don't have to tell you that). Geez I love the man! ;-)
Also, I agree with some of the others that Aragorn seems OOC lately. I find it hard to believe that he would take a lot of pleasure in Eowyn's discomfort.
Anyway, keep up the good work. I can't wait to read more!
Author's reply
First off--Faz? LOL!!! That's awesome!
But, back to business...Eowyn is a tease, if you want to think that, but she's got issues as excuses. Issues which are already fading, if the alley scene gave you any indication. :D Hehe, Faz got to second base. (which, I admit he was ALWAYS going to get to, it was just when)
And Faramir was always (in my POV about the books) more smitten with her. I mean, it was almost like he took one look and went, "HOLD UP! Who is that fine honey?"
She misses him, sure. I mean, she did cry a little. Come on, Eowyn's not going to break down over him this soon in the game.
LOL, the Gondorian women swooning will come up, I mean, how else is he a good dancer? Practice! ;) Also, women in general will come up because I'm not going to believe Faramir hasn't had a few rolls in the hay.

Wow! First of all thanks for the update! You have no idea how much I appreciated having a chapter of your story to read today. :)
I'm really glad that Eowyn finally managed to say the "L" word. It's nice to see a little emotion from her that isn't anger or fear based. I hope we'll get to see more. Faramir deserves to get all the love he gives to her back three fold.
I must confess that I found Aragorn's behaviour towards Eowyn and Faramir (in regards to the whole naked thing) a bit of a surprise. It seemed out of character to me. Had Boromir been alive I could definately see him teasing them, but Aragorn? He doesn't seem to me like the type that would enjoy making Eowyn more uncomfortable than she already was. I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this?
My favorite part of this chapter was the goodbye at the end. I could imagine what they looked like as they talked. I can't wait for more. I'm very much looking forward to reading about life in Rohan.
Author's reply
Well, Aragorn was teasing her and Eowyn needs to be teased. Come on, I mean, the war, THE WAR, is over and Aragorn can relax for the first time in his adult life. Can't he get a bit obnoxious--especially after spending the entire night around the Master himself, Eomer?
Anyway, she needs that kind of stuff to get her out of her shell. Aragorn's true target was Faramir--he actually thought it was great that Faramir was there, but of course we don't have his POV (god, no, another would kill me).
I loved writing the goodbye scene. I kept it short as possible because I hate drawn out goodbyes and I'm glad everyone seems to like it.

Definitely one of your best, funniest, and most poignant chapters. I'm thinking that Aragorn is very, very lucky that Faramir didn't kill him after learning that the King saw Eowyn naked, and was amused about it. Aragorn is acting like a lunkhead. A cute lunkhead, but still a very arrogant and complacent lunkhead. Can't wait to see him turn to mush when Arwen arrives. And I wonder how Aragorn would feel if Faramir snuck into Arwen's room in the middle of the night and saw HER naked.
Eomer's jealousy over Faramir is very well-written; he's not as obnoxious as Aragorn, he's just a brother who knows that his precious little sister has another man in her life now who is as important to her as he is. Good for him that he's willing to let her go when he sees how much she misses Faramir...

Man, that was a long wait between updates, considering how great you've been with about them! It was worth all the anquish and obsessive opening of my mailbox, though. :)
Um, was Aragorn still drunk? He certainly acted like it. Why on earth would he tell Faramir about what happened? I thought Faramir would kill him. Also surprised that Eowyn wasn't angry with Faramir for demanding she take off her nightgown. Seemed kind of childish, to me, even if I do understand how he would be hurt.
I certainly hope that, concerning Rohirric men and their lack of modesty, that it is concerning bathing only. Doing day-to-day activites, I should think they would be wearing a pair of breeches at least. But, maybe it is more fun for your imagination if they were not. :)
And, do you share Eowyn's sentiments that men look awkward? *Feels slightly embarassed* I suppose I understand what you mean, but we cannot help it. *Shrugs wide, cumbersome shoulders*
Author's reply
I would have updated sooner, but the disk I had kept messing up.
Aragorn might have been a bit tipsy still, he and Eomer did stay up all night, too you know and that makes it worse because you tend to not care so much. (partying experience) ;)
Eowyn was a little bit angry, but more surprised than anything at him. Poor Faramir, though he did get compensated with a little action in the alley. I know he thought it was about time. All in all their reactions were basically tempered by the fact that she was leaving and neither of them wanted it to end on a bad note.
I like men. Men are good and damn fine. Hehe, but, a naked man? Is a bit awkward with the swinging and stuff. LOL. Sorry. That's what she meant, though.
And the lack of modesty WAS about bathing and doing chores without shirts--they weren't randomly walking about naked. Also, I think that the Rohrric men weren't supposed to make exceptions for Eowyn, treat her like a woman and be very modest and act extra-nice around her--she wouldn't have wanted that at all, though Eomer probably made them put something on if he was there. Wouldn't want to expose his little sister to anything naughty ;)
Author Reply: Also? Aragorn wanted to stick it to him. He likes Faramir, but man, he's got something juicy here.

Very good ending to this chapter. You built up our anticipation for ine ending and then give us someting throughly unexpected. Almost as much fun as the Millers's Tale from the Canterbury Tales.
I am in fact very anxious to learn how E & F deal with this new set back. Their relationship is on a much firmmer footing than a few hours ago, but it will not help (at least in the short run) to have the rug so violently pulled out from under them.
Author's reply
Yeah, I thought having Eomer burst in would be too predictable, not to mention ruin everything Faramir accomplished. Faramir is going to be rather immature about it, but more directed at Aragorn--he's too upset about her leaving to whine to Eowyn much.

What is it with you and putting thoughts into my head? Now I'm trying to figure out what Eomer had on his hands that would have repulsed him so while simaltaneously trying to put it back out of my head!
By the way, since you are having so much fun with this story, would you consider doing an Eomer/Lothiriel fic afterwards? :)
Author's reply
LOL. Actually, I'm trying to find a way to give us a teeny glimpse of Lothiriel here and I'm not sure I can do it( she's already been shown--she was the girl who was nice to Eowyn in the Houses of Healing! Ha! Fooled you all!).
Yes, if I have time I think that would be a good story. I love Eomer--he's an awesome character.
