Tathar, I am enjoying your story very much. I'm kind of new to this whole fanfic thing, but am a sincere LOTR fan! I particualarly like this chapter because I like how you portray Frodo as a good cousin. You handled this scene very well. Merry is so very funny! Very belivable. As are all the characters!!

this story is really good so far. However, i think hobbits give presents on their birthdays in stead of recieve them. apart from that, it really is a fantastic story, and i can't wait to read the next chapter!

Aw, thanks! I think that remains one of my favorite moments of "What Could Possibly Happen?" Writing Pippin's letter with his messy spelling was so much fun! ;)

Thanks! I think little Merry totally stole the show... I hadn't planned for him to become such a major character. He just sort of charmed his way in... ;)

I enjoyed this story a lot. I like seeing young Merry without Pippin sometimes, it allows him to be the small child for a change. I had one comment/question though. You stated that Bilbo's parents got engaged in 1308. Is this a revised timeline for your stories? According to Tolkien, Bilbo was born in 1290.

Thanks so much for your comments! You're right, that was a mistake on my part regarding the date. A typo made in revision or just an error, I'm not sure -- but thanks for pointing it out! It's been fixed now. :)

Did something silly and read the last three chapters first. I was only going to read this one to see what type of story it was and then couldn't quit and read the last three! I was totally hooked! LOL I plan to start at the beginning tomorrow after some sleep as I really did enjoy what I read. This is very good, and I look forward to seeing how it starts!
