You said a lot in a short space here, nancy. It's really good. You know...Faramir will be joining him soon enough I suppose also. Or is it only those that died violent deaths? It is really rather sad, isn't it? Where did you get this idea? Lindorien

Thank you, Lin. I got the idea from a Tower of Ecthelion challenge (the site is now closed). The challenge was to write a Hallowe'en Story, the only line I remember now was "the living need not apply." My mind immediately leapt to Boromir (as always), and then slipped outward to ask about what other ghosts might haunt the Citadel. I guess I think of haunting ghosts as being those with regrets, fears, or unfinished business; dear Boromir certainly has all required (notably, the only Stewards mentioned in the appendix all fit the category). No, I don't see Faramir there ... let's wish him a long and fulfilling life. Yes, it's sad; but tender, I hope. Part of what I love about Boromir is his tragic quality, that he was kind of stuck in the third age, the perpetual warrior. I don't think he could have been happy in an age of Peace - he had to die and leave the story to others.
