Fantastic! I love the oral tradition of songs and tales in LOTR -- I feel like it keeps people so much more connected somehow than our tv and email and Facebook and all the rest, even with all the advantages the technology brings.
Cute, fun story! Thanks for writing!

Oh gosh, this story was such fun to write! It began as a stand-alone, one-chapter story that somehow grew and grew. I love filling in gaps in the Professor's tale, especially when the hobbits can be tenderly cared for and show their resilience and humor.

It really *doesn't* flow as nicely as his other names -- at least, I've always thought... :-P

Oh my -- a bunch of drunk hobbits! And is Aragorn a little toasty as well? :-) I laughed out loud. Hope the entire camp doesn't come looking for them...

Sleep, food, and hugs. Sounds like a good morning to me. :-)
I very much like how you remind us that Frodo is as much a hobbit as any of the rest of them. Sometimes it seems that he's been through so much that one can't help but picture him as sort of silent and solemn all the time -- but it's good to see him being hobbitish too...

I loved the song; twas very well written. And the story itself was an excellent read in it's simpleness.

Thank you so much. I loved writing this story very much, and am delighted that it's still being enjoyed.

This was a lovely gapfiller! I can't believe that hadn't read it already. Pip's song was beautiful, and I find myself wondering what the tune to it must sound like. :-)
Did you ever write about Aragorn coming to the Shire when Pippin was invested as Thain? That would be a wonderful story too!
Author's reply
Thank you so much! I loved writing this story, and I believe Pip's song was the first LOTR poem, song, or riddle I ever tried to write. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this.
I've actually been toying with an idea recently about Aragorn visiting the Shire post-quest. I'm having hand surgery in a few weeks and won't be able to type, so I'll have lots of time to think. With luck, a wee story might come out of it. :)

Was looking around on the site and found this. I read it again and loved it. I thought I would put the review on this chapter since the last one has so many reviews. I love Aragorn in this one! I know I've read this before but it had been a while and this was like visiting a friend again to catch up! Thank you!
Author's reply
Thank you, GW! It's always so wonderful when the older stories are read and enjoyed. I really had such a wonderful time writing this. :D

Oh, this was excellent!! WOnderful, imaginative...good show! Hm...I just can't imagine what Aragorn could possibly do with that wine!! LOL!! You should write a story about that, you know. As a companion piece. Namarie!
God BLess,
Frodo Baggins

Thank you! And I'm happy you're finding 'new' things to read! I really enjoyed writing this one -- especially the last chapter. :D

Thank you! It occurred to me that hardly anyone got to say "thank you" in the book, and it would be nice to have a chapter where they all just appreciated one another. :D

Awww! I don't want it to be over! LOL! What an adventure, and I love the fluff! It's a good thing only three hobbits quaffed too much wine and that one was too wise. :-) But, Shirebound, that song was absolutely wonderful!!! I expected something funny, coming from Pip, you know, and here's this simple yet stirring song. Excellent, excellent! God bless,
Galadriel
Author's reply
Eeee, you're finding all the fluff! Thank you so much. I (I mean Pippin, of course) worked really hard on that song.

I've read this story a number of times and I'm ashamed I haven't reviewed before. It's sweet, touching and funny. I especially loved this line:
"At no point in our confrontation do I recall Sauron breaking into song," Aragorn groaned.
You handled the delivery of the song and the reaction very well, making it moving but without being sentimental. I enjoyed the story very much.
Author's reply
Thank you so much! What a joy to know that the older stories are still being read and enjoyed. And you highlighted one of my very favorite lines.

That was unbelievably CUTE! I loved the poem, and how all these honoured characters are constantly joking with each other over their experiences, as hobbits would. It was just superb. *beams*
Author's reply
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that folks are still discovering and enjoying the older stories. I had a wonderful time writing this.

What a wonderful poem! There was a sweet poignancy to it that was very Tokienesque - I loved the words " The living light of Westernesse."
Author's reply
I'm so happy you enjoyed Pippin's "song" -- he and I worked very hard on it! Thank you so much for your review.

Hi, Giu! Glad you liked this one! There isn't currently a sequel to "Cormallen", but I sure enjoyed writing this. That Pippin can really come up with some unexpectedly wonderful moments.

The line about no animal, person, pub or blade of grass going without it's own song was my favourite line in this whole story - laughed and laughed - great job.
I like to see the light hearted banter between the hobbits and Aragorn - I am glad to see that becoming King does not alter the way he interacts with each of them.
