"I it was who first summoned the White Council. And if my designs had not gone amiss, it would have been governed by Gandalf the Grey, and then mayhap things would have gone otherwise. But even now there is hope left. I will not give you counsel, saying do this, or do that. For not in doing or contriving, nor in choosing between this course and another, can I avail; but only in knowing what was and is, and in part also what shall be. But this I will say to you: your Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while all the Company is true."

Divers Drabbles II by Raksha The Demon
Here will be found more fixed-length ficlets of the denizens of Arda. (probably mostly Men, and mostly tall grey-eyed dark-haired Men). First, a 500-word tale about Aragorn's close encounter of the scary kind, in honor of upcoming Halloween. Most chapters beautifully beta'd by Branwyn, whose work is also found on this site. 3/15/07: This collection concludes, as it began, with Aragorn. New ficlet in honor of Veterans Day, posted 11/11, wherein Boromir is remembered. 12/21/06 posting - Faramir has an 'aha' moment in the Houses of Healing. Three new pieces added 12/31//06-1/1/07, including an Orc double-drabble, and Faramir's take on the Eagles' tidings of victory. 2/14/07 - three ficlets in time for and (to some degree) in honor of Valentine's Day.

Iron Flame: The Story of Túrin Turambar by Nerdanel
The story of Túrin Turambar told in a dramatic script format. It is supposed to be a movie, but in that case it would be about seven hours long (but we would all go see it, wouldn't we?) I have tried to give a comprehensive, as well as deep look at the life to Túrin. Why did he do the things he did? Why did he act in such a way? What were his motivations, his desires, his hopes? I hope this will give every reader a deeper look at Túrin, my favourite character in the Silmarillion, who is so often sadly passed over. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated, since I have spent several months working on this script, and would appreciate any feedback. Act IV complete: Túrin in Nargothrond.

Forcing a Path by Linaewen
In honor of a day I spent wrestling with wet, heavy snow and a woefully inadequate shovel, here is a wee gap-filler inspired by Boromir and snowfall on Caradhras. "...happily your Caradhras has forgotten that you have Men with you. And doughty Men too, if I may say it; though lesser men with spades might have served you better. Still, we have thrust a lane through the drift; and for that all here may be grateful who cannot run as light as Elves."
