Wonderful, daw. I just love these characters so much. Sweet, serious Annael. The brattish Turgon, who never managed to outgrow his dreadful parents. And, of course, Legolas - who was doubtless still complaining about being treated like an elfling by his family when he got back from Minas Tirith! Although, quite possibly, by then he was able, secretly, to enjoy fitting back into a family he would have missed. A shame they didn't get to see Rodda - but I loved Squirt Ithilden, who seems to have been influenced by his name. And Eilian! and Ithilden! Not to mention their father, of course. What a treat. Author Reply: Turgon didn't have time to outgrow his parents, which is especially sad since an elf should have all of time. I think it was you who once suggested that elves become adults as they take on adult roles rather than just add up years. That made a lot of sense to me, and you see I've borrowed the idea here. Thanks for the review, Bodkin. Lovely to see you again. | |
