LOVED this story! And this last chapter was so satisfying. Unexpected in the best way. You say so much with so little, like Thranduil's 'Leave him to me.'; because you've set up his character so clearly for us, we know anyone who gets on the wrong side of him is going to regret it. I really hope you continue with this story- I'm desperate to see how it turns out. Thank for writing.

Author Reply: Thanks for reading! And for the kick in the pants. I really do want to finish this one.

At last! Can I just say I love your writing? I came upon you while reading the Fanfic "Finding a Voice" by Roselightfairy on Archive of Our Own whom credited a snippet from another of your works as an inspiration. I have since then been completely enthralled by your story telling and depiction of characters. I especially admire the way you manage the huge cast of middle-earth and balance screen time without detracting from the plot, bravo! The end is nigh for Lord Falathar and I can't wait to see Thranduil take his due vengeance!

Eagerly anticipating the next installment,
~Jen

Okay, now I'm heartbroken. I liked the fox. :(

Oh, wow. I absolutely love "I Return" (now "Sons of Fellowship"; and let me tell you of the panic moment I had when I was searching for the story under the old title, couldn't find it, and couldn't recall your penname), and was thrilled to see this addition.

But I'm prompted to leave this review by my now vicious desire to see Falathar get what's coming to him. Have yet to make my way through the rest of the story but I'm crossing my fingers for a rambunctious romp through Pelargir with adventures, sword fights, magic spells, a prince in disguise.... :) Basically, LOTR does Pirates is my hope.

I would also like to ask for permission to retain these stories and format them for my e-reader? I don't repost or redistribute, I just ask when I find stories I love not cross-posted to a site such as AO3 (which lets me download in epub format) so I can save them to my e-reader.

Author Reply: Sorry about that! I'm glad you were able to find it again, and you may absolutely save anything you like for your e-reader. Thanks for reviewing! :)

At last, some answers!

And from what a source. Such intriguing ponderings regarding the Uruks/orcs, and their path forward now that the driving forces behind them are no more. If given a choice, what would they be? Hmm ... I do very much like how you have written this Uruk (can’t remember his name exactly) — still with unattractive and even repulsive qualities, but the desire is there. Very true, change such as this does not happen overnight.

I’m anxious to see how these next steps will play out. So glad I finally got back to this story, it has completely sucked me in again. Thanks so much for writing, and I look forward to more!

Author Reply: Thanks for all the great reviews! We'll try not to keep you waiting too long.

Well ... huh. Curiouser and curiouser ... I’m with Imrahil — very curious to learn what an Uruk could say which would make Thranduil stand down, even for a time.

Forgot to say while ago — I laughed at your comment several chapters back about Rlves living so long that they had no patience for boring food. :-)

And the hits just keep on coming ...

Hope Imrahil’s prepared to deal with *this* tag-along — things could get a little testy (not that they aren’t already).

Glad Faramir is coming along. Fish skins, hmm? That makes ... a certain sort of sense, I suppose.

It’s interesting to observe families (Imrahil’s in this case) in which the head is not only father, but commander in both secular and military rank. It gives relationships and interactions a different feel than what we’re used to, certainly.

Thanks as always for writing!

Oh, I was worried about Gwaelas ... I hope this means he’ll recover.

What a terrible mess. Thranduil is handling this with as much calm and dignity, I think, as can be expected from him — especially considering the injury and death of those who have been with him for so long. I hope that they’ll take some clue from the fact that Faramir was obviously meant to be there too ... but with so much going on who knows. In any event, they’ve made pretty much everyone in charge of any there really really mad.

Run and hide, bad guys. Run and hide ...

Noooo .... *puts hand over eyes and watches from between fingers* I can see it all going south, and there seems to be nothing to stop it ...

Other than the blatant acts of sabotage, what a fantastic day. I loved your descriptions of the sport — would have loved to actually see those matches — and of course the other activities and diversions. What a great party. Such a shame that it all has to be ruined by people who can’t just be happy with the new prosperity.

I was wondering for quite a while just how long Beleg could be gone without anyone noticing ... :-P

Dinner to buy and make, then on to the next chapter. Thx for writing!

Until now, Thranduil has always acted with confidence and most likely nothing has been truly new for him... and now he has had a relatively friendly conversation with an orc. I can hardly wait to see what comes of that! It seems that even Thranduil can’t make sense of it.

There’s something very refreshing in reading a story with completely new ideas. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an action story with Imrahil and Thranduil as main characters! This story has certainly went in different direction than I expected.

Fish skins for burns? Is that some sort of grease bangade? Faramir is lucky to have elves fussing over him!

I’m so sorry for Ivriniel, Beleg was a good man.

Author Reply: Thanks so much for the great review! I'd heard about an experimental treatment for burn victims in South America using farmed tilapia skins which has apparently been quite successful. It seemed like a very Elvish idea! :)
