| Well there were some people who regarded any other form of transportation than Shanks Pony or an actual pony as evil, so having the Black Riders in steam auto's would work, plus think of all the stink and dirt they can spread. Did this ploanets inhabitants come up with space flight or are they colonists who wanted to get back to simpler things and times? Keep it coming, Lynda Author Reply: Since I am not sure how well my word-limits are going to allow me to address the backstory, I will say that Suza was colonized (as was the actual Shire). | O well done Dreamflower! This tale gets more and more engaging in the telling! Dare I ask if you plan to re-tell the whole trilogy?? That would be quite the undertaking, but you're definitely one of the authors I know would be up to it! Uh-oh, just as our four get together there's trouble...well, it's not as though I didn't expect it... A motorized Nazgul! Eek! *shudder* Eagerly waiting for the next chapter, Kaylee!!! (By the way, you might want to double-check the chapter number in the List...) Author Reply: Thanks! My cursor must've slipped down when I clicked and I didn't notice. Anyhow, now I should notice, since I went in and put word count for the chapter heading. And yes, the plan is to continue through the Quest, though some things may change along the way. | |

| Dear Dreamflower, Best to be wary, indeed! Hobbits with bicycles! I do love that image! No doubt they'd have gotten to Imladris much faster on them if they had them in the book! Heh...except for the carrying food issue, must think on that. Professor Curunir, the head of his department...oh, that's just too funny! | Dear Dreamflower, This story is getting Better and Better! (And Longer and Longer, but that's the Way I Like It!! =) Miss Dora does too, I am Sure!) Suza! I love it! I may not be an expert on Hobbits like yourself, but I did recognize that word...it is the Hobbits' own word for Shire, is it not?? I love how you make this work! Reading on happily, Kaylee! Author Reply: Yes. Suza is the word for Shire. I decided to use JRRT's slightly less familiar nomenclature for characters/places-- everyone reading here is going to recognize most of them, but they will be used in just a very slightly different context to make them seem a bit different. But I'm trying not to be too exotic-- which is why I used periain for hobbits instead of kuduk. I want most readers to be able to recognize what it is and move on, instead of having to wrack their brains over it. | |

| Lord of the Rings meets Return of the Jedi? It would only be fitting, since Lucas modelled SW on High Fantasy, if not LotR in particular. Author Reply: *nods* And there will be some tips of the hat to other sorts of space opera/fantasy things as well. (And let's face it, all High Fantasy published since 1952 owes a tribute to LotR.) | |
