The Honorary Hobbit  by lovethosehobbits 90 Review(s)

I do like the idea of Aragorn being an honorary hobbit!

Yikes! Poor Frodo! (Thinking he's a jinx and all)

Author Reply: Except for his height, I think he'd blend in perfectly!

It's the same situation all over again, only with swapped roles.
But this time Gandalf is there to prevent Aragorn from doing something stupid ;-)

I am not so sure, though, if Aragorn could have mustered the strength to reach Frodo's bedside on his own. But he would have tried nevertheless!

“Of course, Aragorn, but Merry and Pippin have also volunteered to help in your physical therapy,” the wizard said with a chuckle.

That should be indeed interesting!

Author Reply: I know I'M looking forward to it!

Well, Aragorn at least is recovering at last! The infection is clearing up, and he's able at last to take an interest in what's going on around him. And he's as guilty as Frodo of putting others' needs before his own, I suspect.

Author Reply: MEN! or I suppose it should be MALES! Unbelievably stubborn. If they'd only realize that if they took care of themselves then they could take care of others. sigh

Oh my! I agree with the others: Hearon will NEVER forget to wash his hands again!

And I hope Pippin will be in time to clean the seats...

Really enjoyed this hope there will be more

Uh-oh. Pippin!

I love Elrond going into "herald mode". And I cringed when Hearon said "at least it wasn't an important step"!

They now know WHY he was made Gil-galad's herald, don't they? Heh!

And they have managed to avert an even worse infection. As for the apprentice--he will NEVER forget to wash his hands again, I suspect!

(And I do hope that those privies are clean when Elves come to use them!)

Oh dear! Poor Frodo! Poor Aragorn!

That's one determined Baggins!

Author Reply: Hard headed and stubborn isn't he.

At least they can now drain it, now that the infection is obviously draining. Bless Frodo for wishing to help his beloved friend as he could.

Author Reply: He probably inadvertently saved his life by the whole mess.

That proves that the transitions between stubbornness and foolishness are smooth!

Now Frodo has to wait yet again for his long-desired bath.
But who knows how long it would have taken Elrond to find the cause of Aragorn's lasting fever otherwise?

Author Reply: Exactly...divine intervention or hobbit-intervention, I would say.
