Where Do Mothers Come From?  by LKK 34 Review(s)
ShlainReviewed Chapter: 4 on 4/2/2009
That was so sweet! And "storm Lenniel" - that just made me think of my little cousin and how true and almost completely accurate it is when the personalities of young girls are involved. I got quite the giggle fit when I read the part where the twins left poor Glorfindel confused. Can only imagine what worries about how the twins discovered where mothers came from went through his mind. Glad Lenniel got caught and I'm sure she got her just due. Good writing.

Very cute story. So characteristic of young boys or elves in this case. Good luck in the contest.

Author Reply: Thank you for leaving me a note, washow. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the story. Thanks also for the wishes about the contest. :)

Well, for heaven's sake!!! What happens to Lenniel!!! Was she punished for ruining her Begetting Dress? And what, prithee, is this begetting business about, anyway? And does she ever get that kiss?

Good story, LKK! I enjoyed it thoroughly!!

Author Reply: I decided to leave Lenniel's fate to the reader's imagination. She did get punished, but the precise punishment is up to you. She never did get her Begetting Day kiss. At least not for that Begetting Day. ;)

Thanks for leaving me a review. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

PS: Begetting Day is the elven equivalent of a human birthday.

Hah! I laughed my way through this one - you've got kids pegged all right; the Twins' ruminations reminded me of overheard conversations between my daughter and my godchildren, trying to figure out how things work. My only complaint is that you didn't let us know what befell Lenniel!

Author Reply: I'm glad you thought I got the twins' musings right. I don't have young ones of my own, so I had to go by memories of my own childhood.

I decided to leave Lenniel's precise fate to the reader. No matter what I could come up with, I knew it wouldn't be satisfactory. Too harsh for those who liked her. Too easy for those who hated her. This way, she'll get precisely what you want her to get.

Thanks for dropping me a review. :)

*slowly picks self up off floor*

Poor Glorfindel!!!!

*starts laughing again and falls back to floor*

Author Reply: Poor Glorfindel is right!
Can't you just picture his face as he wonders why the Galadriel is going to give him "her best" when he's ready to become an ada?? *snicker*

Thanks for reading & reviewing, Saber!

Oh, my, I think Lenniel is having a begetting day not son to be forgotten...though I am sure she will wish very much to forget it!

Author Reply: I wonder if that perfect elven memory extends to their young childhood? I bet Lenniel hopes it doesn't. This wasn't one of those begetting days to remember, was it?

Thanks for leaving me a note, Nilmandra. :)

LOL! Oh, the wonderful reasoning of elflings. Yes, ellyth train to become naneths, a job as important and difficult as that of a warrior, requiring strentht and endurance and cunning, though slightly different other skills.

Poor Glorfindel :D

Author Reply: I think naneths have a very difficult job. They certainly need all the training they can get, especially naneths who have to cope with 2 clever ellyn or a very controlling elleth. :)

Thanks for the review, Nilmandra.

Good! I'm glad Lenniel got caught by her own mother - she doesn't sound very pleased! And Elladan and Elrohir go running off to play - very sweet. I liked their conversation in the linen cupboard. A nice story, LKK.

Jay

Author Reply: I expect Lenniel won't be joining the twins outside any time soon, if her mother has anything to say about it.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story, Jay. Thanks for letting me know.
