| That was wonderful. I loved the line about Merry being too much of a dandy to wear a bloody shirt! I adored the way Pippin seemed to take Gandalf in his stride as if he were a normal every-day person rather than a wizard. And the way Merry moved in for the kill on the boar was excellent. I also enjoyed the fact that everyone knew Sam was the only member of the hobbits little group who might have proved himself indispensable to the rest of the Fellowship. Hobbits and food! If anyone could smell truffles it *would* be Pippin! I loved it all! | |

| Oh, *grin* Lin's going to *love* this! I most certainly do! The hobbity banter, and Pippin's confidence, and Gandalf's testiness--it's just so perfect! I have to say, I really like the way Merry brought down the pig, and Gandalf's scolding after--especially the part about the shirt and the bloodstains! Merry? A dandy? *giggle* But what I really loved was your ending, as Gandalf enjoys the befuddlement of all those "big, strong warriors"! LOL! Yes, indeed! Size isn't everything--and what hobbits lack in stature, they more than make up in determination and sheer cheek! *happy sigh* *goes to read again* | |
