Cathleen, you are the most delightful and imaginative writer. Your explanation of adult Pippin's joy in bathing was a wonderful bit of whimsy and totally plausible. Crafty Bilbo, eh? This little tale has made my morning.

Author Reply: Steff, a belated thank you, but nonetheless still very heartfelt! Thank you so very much for the gracious compliment - you made *my* morning the first time I read it! *Hugs*

Very sweet! *giggles* I guess now Pippin has to get still more dirty all of the time, so that he can bath a whole lot!
That also explains why he is smaller then the others when they leave on the Quest...too many hot bathes! ;)

P.S. Moooooooooooooooooooooooore, please! *g*

Author Reply: LOL! Thanks hon! Too many hot baths indeed...*snerk*

Typical boy! I think I would have just let him get dirty and bathe him when it was time to eat! Good way to get the tyke to take a bath though, a song that can only be sung in the bath!
More please,
Lynda

“I want to sing my new song for you!”

“Yes? Well, go ahead then.”

“But Cousin Bilbo says this is a very special song and it can only be sung in the bathtub!”

LOL!!! That's great! So, now I know where Pippin learned that very special song. I wonder if Bilbo ever regretted what he did.

And once again Frodo realised little Tulip's play of features. But he still is not willing to actually believe what he just saw ;-)

Author Reply: Thank you Andrea! And, I think our Tulip still has a few surprises in store for Frodo...

Absolutely adorable! I love finding out the 'origin' of Pippin's delight with bathing, singing, and splashing all at once. Your Pippin is just too dear for words.

Author Reply: Thank you Shirebound! That is a wonderful compliment, I'm so pleased you like the way I write Pip!

Very nice solution! I enjoyed reading the story very much. :) And would love to see some more Pippin Sancho stories. I think Sancho might like something like..a knitted bull or so. Or how about a knitted Olipaunt *g* maybe Sancho has heard from those too.

Author Reply: Hey, I'm working as fast as I can!! Thanks so much for your wonderful bunnies, keep 'em coming! I've found I like Pip and Sancho tales too, and it seems to be fitting since they're the same age. Sancho has been written as such a bully most of the time and I'm having fun exploring a different kind of perspective of him. Hmm, a bull or an oliphaunt, huh? We'll see....but I already have the grain of an idea about that.....

“Come on!” Pippin tugged harder and Tulip leant him a hoof in the effort. It seemed an uneasy, but enduring friendship was already in the making.

Great ending!

Who would have thought of such a thief? In fact I hadn't heard of packrats until now. I only knew the Rat Pack ;-)

Thank you for this wonderful Tulip story!

Author Reply: Thank you Andrea! Packrats are kind of cool and the idea just felt right to me.

Oh, and it wasn't the little lass, either! I'm glad, you know?

I was wondering about the provenance of packrats, thinking they were American, too. Am glad you decided to try it anyway! Although Lewis had beavers in Narnia, and they are certainly not native to Britain, either!

Love the final decision by Pippin to have Eglantine create a new friend for Sancho, too!

Wonderful!

Author Reply: Sometimes it's just more fun to use an element from a different place and/or time, and I'm glad I did. I debated over it quite a lot before going ahead. Thanks so much for your comments! We'll have to see what Eglantine figures out for Sancho's toy!!

if Tulip dropped it when she was pig-napped perhaps she was trying to leave us a clue where to come look for her

Of course! :)

I never dreamed who or what the thief really was. Very clever!

Author Reply: Thanks so much Shirebound! I'm very pleased to hear that!!

A mystery indeed! I have no clue where Tulip might be.
Paladin, on the other hand, seems to be very certain about her whereabouts.

I'm glad that Sancho's mother believed him that he did not take the wee piglet.

And I'm impressed by Merry's skills in calming down the children, as were all the mothers present, I believe. He's a natural talent :)

Author Reply: Heh heh - I think Merry would be a dream come true to have around small kids! Thank you so much Andrea, for continuing to read and comment on my Tulip tales!!
*Hugs*
