What a heart wrenching piece and I love every angsty moment because it is so realistic that Faramir would continue to write and to hear his perspective how events happened is so on point

Finally, after such a long time, I have come around to read I started them with this one, because I'm a devout Boromir fan, and you had me almost in tears at some places. Perhaps I'm a little wimpy myself. *g*

In any case, this is an interesting concept, and well-executed, too. I also thank your for honouring poor Denethor, despite his flaws.

Author Reply: Hello,

My goodness - it was so good to see a review for this. It's been a long time. This was the very first thing I'd written, besides a couple poems. I am very attached to it.

I don't believe in coincidences. I just watched this tale yesterday get passed in hits by another one of mine - and it made me sad....

Bless you for reading - but bless you more for sharing this review!

Dear Agape4Gondor,

I said it before and I will say it again... what an incredibly well written story. This is deeply moving, the way you capture the emotions of your characters, the manner how you dare to explore it in such magnificent style. Unique and outstanding, this story is most definitely one of my favourites!

Your silent fangirl,

Rhapsody

These letter have been so touching and beautifully written.I could sense how Faramir was gradually accepting his loss and cherishing the new people in his life, while remembering Boromir and honouring him.THank you for a great read.

This is just heart rending, poor Faramir, and poor Pippin.I love Faramir's desription of Aragorn and how he senses his greatness.

Author Reply: Linda,

It has been a delight reading your reviews. I am so glad you are enjoying the little nuances and such of this tale.

I dearly love Pippin's part. The road ahead for Faramir was incredibly difficult... my heart broke for him.

I could shake Denethor for not realising he still has a priceless jewel. At least we readers know that all is not lost as Faramir fears.Very moving.
I had a little time off from my own writing today,to read.I hope to return to this touching story again soon.

POor,poor Faramir to have such a vision and know it to be true.I love the way you flesh out a part of the book that Tolkien gives only the bare details.

what a wonderful story, agape.
I was amazed at the genuine feeling created in your portrayal of Faramir's feelings. They felt so real to me I surprised myself with tears on occasion. The letters were so heartfelt, so full of longing, I felt I was seeing a fuller understanding of what he must have gone through to lose his brother, especially at that time. I also found myself thinking of my own siblings and how it would feel to lose them. That's how true it felt.
The most poignant lines of all, for me, were:
"This knowing that you are gone, for you would have brought the Horn with you, even broken, it was precious to you. Yet, here it lies on our Father's knees and it breaks further the bond between Father and Son. All your plans and strategies, dear Boromir, to bring us together, have been for naught. You, against your will, now lie dead between us. There is nothing I can do for him."

That's enough to break anyone's heart! I loved also the role of Pippin as his scribe, adding his own two cents as he would do. And the small memorial service was so touching.
And then imagine my surprise upon reading your notes to find you drew from your own experience of loss to write this. But no, I wasn't truly surprised, because it was so genuine, that just made sense.
Tell your daughter that Faramir is not wimpy, just human. To lose someone so vital to your own being can be nearly incapacitating. He was brave and strong in that he went on despite what he felt.

And I do hope Boromir heard your words too, but even more, I hope anyone else that has suffered like you - or Faramir - might read your words and be comforted.
Powerful writing.

Author Reply: Docmon,

Please forgive me for the late reply. I was rejoicing in New Zealand on an extended holiday.

Thank you so much for your comments. I am so glad you were touched. I too loved the points you made. Pippin was a delight and kept insisting that he be part of the story!

Thank you! A thousand times.

If only Denehor had not pushed his son aside at this dark time. I liked faramir's musings on the dream.

I love the foreshadowing that you have here aboout Boromir's feelings for the ring and Faramir's misgivings.
