Drabbles  by Lily Dragonquill 49 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 11 on 2/16/2006
This would be such a moment of supreme joy for both Merry and Pippin, I think. So glad to see it from Pippin's point of view, and that he's willing to interrupt Eomer so Merry could know.

Author Reply: No business can be more important than a loved cousin waking up from near-death. :)

This is awesome Lily. So much emotion in so few words!

Author Reply: If you experience the same emotion when writing it's easy to let it show even in a few words.

That last line made me cry!

Author Reply: *hugs and pats back*

Yet another sweet picture. We stand inside Bilbo's head and watch with him.

Author Reply: I love to see the world through Frodo's eyes. Yet I love it even more to see Frodo through the eyes of those who love him.

Lovely! Such a real reaction. I am sure as they grew together, Merry eventually became glad that they did not "give him back!"

Author Reply: He certainly was glad! :)

Darling! I always imagined that Frodo would have sort of smoothed over Bilbo's eccentricities and brought out the best in him... and loved him in spite of same qualities! Delightful piece!

Author Reply: Just what I think! :) Thank you!

Oh, I apparently missed this one when it was published, but how true it is for Frodo and Bilbo.

Thank you.

Author Reply: Thank you!!
There were so few people commenting on this story, I feared it had been overlooked.

I love Frodo and Bilbo moments like this one.

That was really great! I love how Frodo associated the magic, the dragon, the fireworks with Bilbo and his childhood, and how he says good bye to those things as well as Bilbo!
Because you talked about that in the other review...I've seen musical fireworks like that too, with LotR Soundtrack Music...seems to be a popular theme for fireworks.

Author Reply: LotR Soundtrack is popular? I never heard it during a firework - though it would be very fitting.

"Questioningly the dear face turned to him, but Frodo erased the worry he saw there with a heart-warming smile…"

Good old Frodo, he would never give his uncle any cause to worry!

That reminds me of the great fireworks I saw last year. In my city we have every year at the end of July a great fair, that lasts one week and ends with fireworks, accompanied by music. Last year I stood on my balcony and watched the fireworks, when suddenly the music changed and they were playing "Concerning hobbits" by Howard Shore. That was just wonderful :)

Author Reply: I saw such a "musical" fireworks on Saturday night. This drabble was written at about 2 a.m. after I came home - and the memory of "light and beauty up there" was still fresh.
