How very smart of Mrs. Cotton to give Estella a kerchief. I do believe that, as a girl, short hair might get tiresome. Although it is much easier to do, :) for hobbit girls it might be considered...shameful? Would that be the word?

I enjoyed the banter between Estella and Frodo. It's nice how Estella seems simply to brighten everyone's life, where ever she goes. She's such a lovely character, and I really have never seen too much of her in any of your otehr stories, even "Jewels." Yes, she was in it, but this story really delves into her personality.

I dearly love to see what would happen if Rose actually said yes to Merry...perhaps through a misunderstanding? Please?

That must be truly hard for Estella, watching Merry, who we all know she likes! ;) beg Rosie to marry him, in jest or not. I know how I would feel! (Jealous, well, perhaps not jealous, maybe a bit, but mostly hurt, and sad.)

I'm so glad that Freddy's getting better!

You know what I've realized while reading all of this stuf about Estella and Merry? I think that, if you wanted to, since you've added so much backstory about Estella and Merry, you could probably add a bit to "Jewels." If you wanted to, of course.

Excellent, once again!
