"it was Prince Imrahil's idea to put the King's name in there, instead. They thought it might really catch Sauron's attention more, and keep his eyes away from where Frodo and Sam are headed."

Very clever. It must be a great comfort to Pippin to have someone else there to whom he can speak about Frodo and Sam.

Author Reply: Yeah, no doubt, it was. Pippin needed someone he could talk these things over with. At least, with Kevin there, he could do that.

There is always this regret to be known by those who must fight, that they are too often forced to slay others in the defense of themselves and their fellows. I rejoice that he must not face Mordor's dreads this time--it is evil enough to face those who have taken Cair Andros.

Author Reply: Yeah, no kidding! And it's hard on Kevin, living with the knowledge that he has killed another human being. Killing orcs hasn't been so bad for him; that's no different from killing a monster or a vicious animal. Killing a person, however, is a very different story. K.G.
