Elf Academy 4 - The Unfinished Tales  by Fiondil 8 Review(s)

Glorfindel's loss of sense of times is troublesome. He should tell at least Finrod. I remember when he and Finrod vanished from the "official" timeline for a while. I hope Glorfindel is not whisked away at a point when he is needed or another thought, where does he go when he doesn't remember? I hope he is not replaced by someone/something else...

So the plan is coming together. They've come up with several back-up plans, which is good. It would be a shame if they couldn't use the Song, but finding out at the last second that "there IS no plan B" would not be good!

Hmm...wonder what's up with Glorfindel's screwed up sense of time? Very intriguing!

Author Reply: The screwed up sense of time is difficult to explain, so we will not try to for now. You will understand soon enough.

One more note: The East Coast is experiencing one of the coldest winters on record right now. The National Weather Service just posted the following:

"A spokesperson for the center told the outlet, "The extreme temperatures (Saturday) night on Whiteface have to do with its elevation, 4,865 feet and the wind speed. The mountains of the Adirondacks are often some of the coldest places in the lower 48 states during the year."

"The temps was so low on Whiteface Sunday, the National Weather Service said the mountain was colder than Antarctica."

Perhaps it's a good thing the group isn't trying to retrieve the artifact during the winter - LOL.

I agree with you that retrieving the artifact during the winter would have been well nigh impossible. Fiondil hated the cold and the ever-present snow of winter in New York. He even wrote a story about Turgon and I think Glorfindel, too, dealing with that snow-induced PTSD as it were.

Glorfindel's time skipping is an interesting sub-plot. I feel it's going to be far more important than anyone initially suspected. Dear Fiondil - circles in circles and more circles. How fabulous!

Author Reply: Fiondil planned this very carefully, so complain to him with any aggravation this may be causing you, the reader. I believe he is now available 24/7 to take note of such things. I fear though that his only response would be a muhwahahahahaha. But let us know how it turns out :-)

Thank you so very much for reading and reviewing!

Kaylee, may I join you in the Cliff House? I want to be there when the elves retrieve their "artifact." I, too, wish Glorfindel would just talk to someone!
Anyway, having this story improves Mondays tremendously. Thanks to all who are bringing it to us.

Author Reply: This is Ellie.

Please do join the other readers in the Cliff House. Glorfindel is too stubborn to talk to anyone, but we knew that about him already.

I wonder what it is that is interfering with Glorfindel's memory, or if he's being readied to move on to a place where it is more important he should be.

Author Reply: This is Ellie.

Glorfindel cannot even work out the memory problems for himself. Sometimes it is really tough to be Glorfindel and kind of unfair to be him as well.

Songs of Power, hmm? Well, that will be a useful skill for the ap Hywels to learn. I think they're doing pretty well at it myself. Atto, you must have had such fun writing them making their breaking and entering plans :D Ah, poor Derek, Alex and Felicity, feeling like the Elves thought they were babies and then being told otherwise - yes, I'm sure Felicity would definitely appreciate a proper bed and her husband's company. *grin* and if Alex rates a bed, his gwador should get one too. :)

Glorfindel, Glorfindel...oh Glorfi *exasperated sigh* The time slippage he's experiencing may have happened before, yes, but never on such a scale or with such frequency as this. It's really worrying. He hasn't told anyone yet, either, has he? Stubborn, stiff-necked ellon! He should at least tell someone what's going on. Is it because he's the 'fearless leader' and doesn't want to be seen as weak? I imagine if something's not done about it soon, it won't bode well for the little excursion to the cliff.

Tye-melin Atya, Beta amiga nettenyar,

Kaylee

*holed up at the Cliff House, looking at said cliff and wondering when the Elves are going to retrieve the artifact from it*

Author Reply: Arthur went to the actual place where this cliff resides on his vacation (might have been his last vacation, I can't remember, but he often went to the Adirondacks to vacation). Anyway, he scouted this out in person to an extent as well. I don't think he actually tried to break in to the place though. He was a rather law-abiding man.

Of course Glorfindel tells no one anything. Never been a habit before, so why start now? LOL!

Songs of Power are amazingly useful. I think the brothers will be glad to have that skill.
