That was an interesting tale. Especially liked the dramatic flares of Gandalf and Frodoandsam. :) It was also cute that the lights of Legolas and Gimli becoming closer to the same.

Nsmarie, God bless, Antsne :)

But at the last the tinge of greyness returned, and unexpectedly took the dark flames to itself. The greyness thrust itself away from Frodo’s Light, and in a confusing morass of dark flames it fell, touched a great red fire, and—and was gone, along with the dark flames, all consumed by the red fire!

A great idea and absolutely wonderfully done! Thank you very much!

Author Reply: I am so glad you enjoyed it, Andrea! Thank you so! I am honored!

Oh, my. Fascinating read, almost poetic at times.

An intriguing way to trace the journey of the Nine. And that they could see that Boromir died, redeemed...

And the grey -- was it Gollum, somehow?

Author Reply: Almost poetic? I'm honored! I'm certain that the phials would present a truer vision of what was happening in some cases, and that they'd know when strong emotions moved the members of the Fellowship. I'm certain that in the end Boromir was redeemed, and all would be glad that he died thoroughly free of the Ring's influence.

I couldn't think how else to indicate Gollum's presence in Sam and Frodo's company, much less how the Ring might have been taken from Frodo as it was. So, yes, it was at least an awareness of Gollum.

Thank you for such a clever and inventive story! I like the idea that Elrond had found a way to keep track of those dear to them. It reminds me of Molly Weasley's clock. While they could only guess what might be happening, but they can get a general idea if anyone is in mortal peril.

Again, thanks for the lovely story!

Author Reply: I'd not thought of that excellent clock of Molly's, but I see the likeness now that you've drawn it! No, they couldn't tell precisely what was happening to the members of the Fellowship, but they'd definitely know if they were in danger. How difficult it must have been to realize something was going on, but not to know precisely what! And I had to find a way to work in Gollum without there being a phial for the poor creature.

I am so glad you enjoy your gift! And thank you for all your inspiration and encouragement.

What an absolutely fascinating and unique story. I was as mesmerized as Bilbo, as the phials told of the inner journeys taken by the Fellowship as they traveled on their Quest... and beyond.

Author Reply: I cannot imagine that Elrond would wish to be totally without any idea as to what might be happening within the Fellowship, and I found myself wondering, could Elrond also use phials of water for magical purposes. Thank you so!
