Swan Song  by Conquistadora 8 Review(s)

Mmmm … seafood. Yes, my salad just doesn’t quite cut it. *wanders off in search of something else to eat.*

The unrest against the Elves from some quarters strikes me a completely realistic. Not only has an unknown Man come to be their king, but he’s bringing a lot of changes all at once. Not everyone will look kindly on that. The loyal and thoughtful ones will come through it well, as they were saying, but there are always a few who are so focused on themselves that anything they don’t like (or that doesn’t fit into their plans) is dismissed and condemned out of hand…..

Ooo, feasting and feting, politics and intrigue! Love the descriptions of the food and entertainment, and the undercurrent of potential troubles to come.

We are going to the Coast in a few weeks, and I so look forward to fresh-caught seafood!

Author Reply: Sounds wonderful! Thanks for reading!

Oh my gosh you updated this! I've been checking this almost every week or so since I finished the latest chapter almost two years ago. I wish I can leave a review for every fic you wrote but for now I'll just say I've been following your fics since you started and its so wonderful to see you updating. Your Thranduil is one of my favourite portrayals of the character=)

Author Reply: Thank you! Sorry to leave you hanging like that. It's great to be writing again, and I hope to update more faithfully in future!

Hmm. It would appear this Baldor has a good deal to learn both of the untrustworthiness of the Variags and about the true nature of Elves.

Interesting story. Imrahil certainly knows how to throw a party! I hope that Faramir will eventually make an appearance in the narrative; but I like how you have presented Thranduil.

I am so excited to find this story! There is a serious lack of good Thranduil-visits-Gondor stories and I always love reading them. The plot sounds intriguing - unrest at the elves living in the city is not an idea I have read much about. This Baldor sounds suitably vile to be presumably the villain of the piece. I would love to know more about what rumours he has been bandying around. I will eagerly await a new chapter! :)

This is a most intriguing premise. I look forward to your updates. Thank you!

It'll be interesting to see where this story goes. Your stories haven't disappointed me yet, and I'm sure this one won't either! The plot looks like it'll be a lively one, though I think I'll need to make myself a cheatsheet to keep up with all these characters. It's been a while since I read Lord of the Rings, and I juuuust barely remember who Imrahil is ;)
