Beyond the Shadows  by Linda Hoyland 3 Review(s)

"I think you know Gondor's future is in good hands," said Turgon. "Behold!"

Just then, Finduilas returned with Faramir in her arms. Unlike the others in the room, Faramir appeared to be surrounded by light.

Suddenly, he was a child no longer, but a man grown. He was riding beside Thorongil along a path lined with blossom trees and everywhere was fair and green.

Oh my goodness, what a glorious vision. This was a mesmerizing tale... somewhat sad, but ultimately full of hope. Well done.

A gentle enough death for the old Man, and he was welcomed with love. I rejoice that he saw that Faramir would serve alongside Thorongil in the future.

I love the whole story very much, Linda!

A great story! Love it, except for the scorn Denethor had from the first moment. There was foresight indeed by Faramir's grandfather and great-grandfather. I am glad that at least Ecthelion loved him dear. Too bad Denethor could not see his worth even from birth and too bad Ecthelion didn't love longer so Faramir could know love. At least he had Boromir's and that's a lot right there. Thank Iluvatar for that! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I too wish Faramir could have had his father's love and Ecthelion's for longer. May God bless you too.
