Oh, yes, full of surprises but dear in spite of that, of course!

Thundersnow! I hope to see it someday myself, but it must have been frightening for them. It's good to see Aragorn making sense of things and tending to others – he needs the practice for the future. Lovely story, Linda!

I liked this very much indeed. That young man will never forget the lesson and the words of Thorongil. You did a good job of showing us Aragorn as a healer and a wise leader.

That's a young soldier who's never going to forget his first commander, and who will soon learn not to judge by outward appearances, or even common expectations.

Very nice!

Delightful. Thundersnow really is strange, but I have seen it twice in Virginia.

Oh, this was lovely. There's not enough healer!Thorongil fic out there. You did a great job of showing his relationship with the men--why they look up to him, how some of them are coming to know him on a superficial level but none really understand him. Nicely done!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed this glimpse of Thorongil using his healing talents. If you've not already read it, you might enjoy "Voice in the Night" which tells more about Thorongil and Ragnor.

This was a great story, Linda! I really enjoyed the glimpse into Aragorn's life as a seasoned commander and respected Captain in the long-gone pre-LOTR days. You have so many stories posted *yay* that I look forward to discovering more jewels like this one. Thank you!

We fight because we must, not because we enjoy it. The enemy must not be allowed to damage your soul as well as your body.

What an important lesson. These youngsters are fortunate to spend time with Captain Thorongil.
