| So all the Elves are leaving save one. I hope he does not regret his decision, but at least in due time he will leave and rejoin his brother and their family in the West. | The love involved in friendship is as great in its way as the love involved in romance. And I rejoice he finally has an instrument that fits him! Author Reply: I had this feeling Gannellas wasn't quite ready to leave Middle-earth. Now he has a companion - though he will definitely outlive Boromir. Love is awesome. | I would spend the next few years away from Gondor. Let Faramir grow. Father never let him grow. It is the right thing to do. What a thoughtful, loving, and mature decision. How lovely to imagine Boromir and an Elf traveling through Middle-earth, without all the cares and burdens they've known before. Perhaps they'll even visit the Shire before the King's ban is announced. Author Reply: Boromir had quite a bit of solitary time to contemplate his future. And playing an instrument, IMHO, gives one even more time to think. I got the impression that Gannellas and Boromir realized they were kindred spirits - Boromir as Gondor's Captain-general and Gannellas as leader of the Edhellond community. Care-worn and burdened - but now free. My friend, Eru-willing, will have a birthday next year. I'm sure the Shire will play an important part in their travels. Sequal!
