Adventures of an Éored: Midsummer  by Katzilla 4 Review(s)

Please don't stop writing about young Éomer.
This is a very good chapter, heart pounding, we can almost feel the wind, hear the hooves.

Hi Katzilla, so good that you are back. Did you have a serious conversation to your muse? What did you do to her?
It is a promisisng start and it seems that is a lighter story, but we never know with you.
I was re-reading some of your old fics and was shocked that you had killed Findarras as well; I did remember Éothain, of course, but Findarras too! My, you are really mean!
At least Thor, Arnhelm and Bard were left alive, for now.
I remember Maddy and her series. They were great.

I read your touching dedication to Maddy and being rather new to LOTR fanfiction, I had wondered why her wonderful series had never been finished. Her depiction of Eomer and Lothiriel and the royal family of Dol Amroth will always be one of my favorites.

I also greatly enjoy the word picture you paint of a young Eomer and his friends flying over the plains and look forward to yet another engaging tale.

Author Reply: I agree wholeheartedly with your comment about Maddy's achievement in the Rohan-verse (;-)); to this day, it remains the ultimate Éomer/Lothiriel-story for me, and we can only begin to guess what wonderful stories there were still in her head for the future. Her great sense of - often very strange - humour will be thoroughly missed.

Thank you for your nice words re. my "Boyz from the Aldburg-hood", too. I must say that it is way too much fun to imagine those glorious Rohirrim at work and play. :-)

Best,
Katja

Your dedication to Maddy had me in tears. There is nothing I can add really. I read trough her stories occasionally and am so saddened that such a talent is lost. Yes, I miss her very much too.

Glad you are still writing. Lovely to see Eomer as a young man. I imagine there is another plateful of angst for us. LBJ

Author Reply: Hi Sidonie,

yes, I find that Maddy stays with me even if I didn't know her personally (only through loooooong and frequent phone calls and email-correspondence); what I wouldn't have given to get to *really* know her! I would love to visit her family one of these days as I felt that, through the funny stories she told of them, I knew them, as well, but I don't want to bother them if that renewed their pain.

As for the Éomer-angst: I'm not sure yet, but this might actually become one of my lighter stories (no *fluff* though), which is why I decided to dedicate it to Maddy (in the spirit of her comedic Rohan-tales). Of course, I'M saying that *now*, knowing fully well how my stories tend to take on a life of their own... We'll see where this one will take us! ;-)

Warm wishes,
Kata
