The Green Knight  by Le Rouret 5 Review(s)

It's definetely a good thing Thranduil arrived the day AFTER the lance incident. He's going to be upset enough as it is...but to actually witness it? He'd be...peeved. To put it in the most mildly possible of words. And it wouldn't do for the Elven king to start knocking heads around would it? Thought it appears that will be happening rather soon anyway...WOOHOO!!! Thrandy action! YES!!! *hugs author* I loved you before but now...*squeals*

So what does one do the morning after a grievous injury that would be near fatal to any mortal? Why, if one is an Elven prince, bounce your companions from their beds and give Tom Bombadil a run for his money in poetry composition.

Oh, this was so much fun! I was grinning all the way through, just in the afterglow from Legolas' antics. Hee hee! And I am so, so looking forward to Thranduil's arrival. I do love that Elven king. Still find it a little hard to believe that he'd really approve of Legolas taking part in the tournament, but ah well.

H'm, looks like Egalmoth suspects something, doesn't he? Really he's getting more suspicious by the chapter. In any case Thranduil should spark things up again. I suspect that he'll make the conspirators very nervous, and likely they'll strike again soon.

I can't wait!

P.S. Need I say that the description of the early dawn, with the stars and the cold breeze and the frigid water, even to the detail of the morning doves in the wall, was just beautifully done. Such lovely, lovely writing.

Good to see Legolas up and about so completely already! Gimli sounds a lot like my sister, as far as getting out of bed is concerned. . .
Yay! Thranduil's coming! So far he sounds great. Time presses, but next week promises to be a good one. :)

Sorry for forgetting to review the last chapter. But this one was just hilarious, wonderful, intriguing? The description of that early morning at Osgiliath was wonderful. Though I am not really a morning person myself, I could well believe why Faramir and Arwen were out there, enjoying the crisp air and watching the stars fade.

Legolas early-morning tantrum (or whatever that was) was just hilarious. A nice illustration of what the 'merrymaking' of the Elves could look (and feel like). At that moment, when he was dancing and singing and annoying his companions, he really appeared like the Elf he is, strange and unpredictable. I loved that bit, though I did sympathize with Gimli. Poor Dwarf could not have his wits intact at that hour!

Elessar's councilors are still intriguing. Egalmoth's remark about Legolas being no longer there to assist them in preparing a welcome reception for King Thranduil left the impression that Egalmoth knows quite a bit about Legolas' role in the entire affair. And I wondered whence he knew that Thranduil had five hundred of his people with him. Faramir did not mention it, as far as I recall. Though I gran Egalmoth and Eradan the right to be more than a little peeved about King and Steward leaving them in the dark, I like them less and less, Egalmoth in particular.

But now I have a week looking forward to Thranduil's grand entrance as I am sure he will leave quite an impression on the people gathered for the tournament.

What an absolutely delightful chapter!!! I can just picture Legolas dancing about the tent with Bandy...
And the imagery of the wind and the stars heralding the King's arrival was perfect too!!! I loved how Bandy figured out the riddle before Gimli!!...Hobbits love riddles after all... :)
Thank you for another excellent chapter....
