The Green Knight  by Le Rouret 5 Review(s)

And Oropher turns over in his grave...

Funny, I wouldn't have thought an elven blade would have been notched that easily, if at all. I mean sure that was a heck of a blow...but STIL...elven forged swords are wicked strong.

Well aren't you just the grumpy one today...

I knew Brandobras would go balistic when he found out. So much for trying to keep his clothes clean! The little guy never fails to be amusing.
And another round of applause for Legolas! He has enough of his father in him to chafe when thwarted. He had to take it out on somebody, and Vorondil just happened to be handy. ;)
Just a little concerned that Arwen and Eowyn seem a bit free with their comments. You never know what may slip out to inopportune listeners . . .

Kudos for updating regularly, BTW. A friend of mine who was staying with us this week lit up this morning when she remembered it was "Green Knight day".
After being sick all yesterday, an entertaining chapter like that was just what we needed. :)

Oooo...thanks for posting early.... ;)
Egalmoth looks guiltier by the minute...must go back and read previous chapters to pick up more clues...
I introduced this story to my sister and a friend....I daresay they are both hooked and are clamouring for more!!! (as am I ;)
:)
Happy New Year!!

I been waiting for this~! The combat scene was sharp and the action easy to follow. The only thing I'm puzzled about is why does it say 'Éowyn thought Vorondil’s sword would block the sweep of Orophin’s blade'; isn't Orophin the brother of Haldir? Legolas's grandfather is Oropher, right?

That little trick that Eowyn pulled on Bandobras was kind of cute. Hope to see the next chapter soon.

Author Reply: Kage,

Ooops! That's what I get for posting un-beta-ed chapters -- It ought to have been Oropher, and I corrected it. Thank you for catching it before I looked like a TOTAL fool.

I wish my beta would hurry up.

Ah, well, if you can't get out and fight the real battles, may as well trounce the opposition at home. I am glad to see Legolas shine at swordfighting too. It was realistic that he can't be perfect at everything, but he is light and fast and strong, and given the right motivation he can even handle all that armour and heavy sword. You did a very nice job showing the motivation behind this transformation.

I did like Bandobras in this chapter particularly. That reaction over the button -- wonderful! Very funny, and still respectful to the Hobbits.

Looks like the conspiracy is coming close to home - at least one of those lords in the top box has suspicious motives. Things are heating up now, and I'm looking forward to the conclusion. May the muses be kind to you.
