The Green Knight  by Le Rouret 5 Review(s)

Uh, I still owe you a review or two, I fear. Hmm, the mental image of a naked wood elf running through a rain-soaked forest at night was a nice christmas present, indeed. Though I am more of a squeeling Aragorn fangirl than a pervy elf fancier, yet IŽll enjoy what I'll get ;-)

I quite like the turn your story is taking. While it started as a light-hearted, colourful tale about knights and ladies and gossip at court (and, of course, the mystery of the true identity of the Green Knight), it now takes a turn to the darker side. There is real danger afoot, both for Gondor and her King. The threat that they are facing is no longer some petty intrigue, but the stability of Gondor itself is at stake.

I am curious as to where this is heading.

Happy New Year,

I can see now that this whole rigamarole is beginning to grate on Legolas; he has an attitude! How exasperating to stay there and play those crazy games while others are out doing some real fighting.
Also, I've noticed that Legolas has a knack for turning up in bedrooms without compromising his integrity. Treading a fine line are we, from an author's PoV? ;)

Now we've dealt with Aragorn, but I can just imagine what sparks will fly when Gimli finds out what he's been up to.

HA! Told you! The elf never listens. He has quite the hard head does he not? I pity Aragorn for having to deal with him all these years. Ack...the heck with Aragorn...pity the lunkhead's father! It's a wonder Thranduil isn't the first elf with gray hairs.

Ah treason...how sweet the sound to a readers ears. *rubs hands together* Bring it on...

"Like a bright echo of moonlight he passed noiselessly over soft rain-soaked grass and slick shingle alike." Sigh. Have I told you lately how much I love your descriptions? Even with clothes on he's perfect.

Interesting mix of courtly language and good old fashioned bickering in this chapter. Loved Legolas' reaction to Aragorn's orders. And I note that he never really said that he'd just stay in the tournament and leave the real fighting to the army. This goat has teeth. Aragorn would do well to remember it.

P.S. Wonderful, wonderful touch about Legolas detecting Arwen by scent, and her waking to his presence. Nice statement about the other, often overlooked Elvish senses.
