Appreciation of nature is always good! *grin* Trust hobbits, indeed!

Author Reply: Well, there's more than one way to appreciate it; looking at a pretty view is one way-- but gratefully taking advantage of nature's bounty is most certainly another!

I think we urgently need Middle-earth travel agencies...

Author Reply: Well, the B2MEM folk have written up a wonderful set of brochures, complete with blurbs, postcards, and passport stamps!

"Trust hobbits to have a true appreciation of nature," said Gandalf.

Aye! And trust hobbits to look after their companions who would starve to death while appreciating the view ;-)

P.S.: I like Pippin's new creation: supper-breakfast!

Author Reply: Well, yes! That they can appreciate the view is shown by Frodo being the first to notice-- but they have more sense than to stand about jawing over it when a mealtime is in view.

"Supper-breakfast" is canon!

"That morning they lit a fire in a deep hollow shrouded by great bushes of holly, and their supper-breakfast was merrier than it had been since they set out." (FotR, "While the Ring Went South")

*grin*

Yes, trust the hobbits to have their priorities in the right order! I hope Frodo was able to find some mushrooms to go with the trout and onions.

Author Reply: Well, I was going to have Pip find some, but a check of my resources indicated that they were unlikely to find any of those at that time of year! So, alas, no handy fresh mushrooms. But it would surprise me if Sam hadn't secreted a few dried ones amongst his supplies!

Ah - the practicality of hobbits... :~)

Author Reply: Practical...and always hungry! *grin*

This is so wonderfully hobbity. I love it.

Author Reply: Thank you! Hobbits can appreciate a pretty view as well--but nothing like appreciating the bounty that nature has provided them!
