If It's Trewsday It Must Be Buckland...  by Dreamflower 6 Review(s)
Kaylee ArafinwielReviewed Chapter: 3 on 10/26/2011
Boy, can I sympathize with Hamson! My favorite cousin's turning 21 tomorrow, and though I've been keeping up with her on Facebook, it's still hard not to picture her as a little one! (Though she's on a mission in Mexico right now, and I know she's handling herself quite capably, it's still hard!!)

Well done!

Author Reply: *nods* Personally I have always thought that other people's children should not be allowed to grow when I am not looking! My niece has three children now, but I still see her as a young teen...

I should imagine that a lot of people felt the same way. To Hamson Sam was just his baby brother, and now he's the Master of Bag End. No wonder Hamson is finding it difficult to comprehend.

Author Reply: Exactly-- really hard to comprehend when someone you've known from infancy ends up doing something great and unexpected.

He is finding it as hard to accept as Butterbur did that Strider was now the King! Great stuff Dreamflower.

Author Reply: *nods* And for much the same reason. It's hard to believe that someone you actually know has ended up in a position of importance and authority.

Oh yes, I can understand Hamson!

My "little" brother turned 30 last year, finished his studies and has accepted a very good job offer just yesterday.

How the time flies! It's unbelievable :-)

Author Reply: *nods* It really is hard to realize that a "little" brother or sister has grown up, especially if you do not see them frequently!

Makes me wonder if Hamson will pop a vein when he later finds out Sam is the Mayor! ;o)

Author Reply: LOL! Perhaps by the time that happens, he will finally be used to the idea that "little Sam" is all grown up.

*grin* But I wouldn't count on it!

Believe it!! Indeed it was to a beloved brother that Frodo left his home, a most worthy heir, for Sam loved the place almost as much as Frodo did.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, he did. Of course, it's very hard for an older sibling to see a much younger one as anything but a child!
