I loved this yarn. It had everything; humour, drama, action, slapstick and pathos. All the characters were well drawn and it was wonderful to have a tale set just before the journey to end all journeys.

Many thanks!

A brilliant yarn!
I am really impressed.
I have read a lot of fan fiction on this site by now....and I loved your tale. It had action, humour and pathos.

You may not remember me, but once, long ago, I reviewed this tale. I had not, I believe, as yet finished reading it, since the review I left was simply made to mark it for later. It was some while before I finished reading it, and it has been some while since then, but let it now be said: I am truly, truly impressed.

This story is incredibly amusing. It is well constructed, well paced, and endlessly rewarding. You have a very fine sense of humour and a great wit, and when coupled with your extensive knowledge of the canon and storytelling skills, the result is incredible.

What I would like to do to further laud your prowess is to nominate this story for the Mithril Awards 2004, in the category of Best Humour/Parody, as well as, perhaps, Best Characterization-Ensemble. I would also like to nominate you personally for the Best New Author category, provided that you have not posted any fanfiction prior to April 1 2003. I truly think that you are deserving of this honour. I also considered nominating your Notes_From_the_Field for Best Parody, but since the rules permit me to nominate only one story per category, I shall prevail upon some other author to do so for me.

The thing problem, however, that to nominate you at all requires that I can provide the Judges board with an email address to contact you with, which I can not, unfortunately, find at any fanfiction site where I can find you posting. If I have your permission to nominate you for these Awards, I'd be much obliged if you could send me a message with your email address as soon as possible- nominations close May 9, 2004. My own email address is hiro_tyre@msn.com.

I look forward to hearing from you soon, and good luck with the Awards.

You have the same story on fanfiction! I'm reading in ff.net right now so I should know! Well not right now but well.... you get the point!

...I have been rendered speechless by that...masterpiece which you have so kindly graced the screen of my computer with. Thank you! That was undoubtedly the best story I've ever read. Wait, listen, is that applause? Cheering? Why yes! It's a parade!!! And who do we have in the lead? Glorfindel, Punk'd Elves and Beardless dwarves! Followed closely by Ant es Sauron and Master Stub! Not to be outdone, we have Borofara and Uglish! The Dark Lord Elrond and his Dark Advisor Erestor. “Lez Elves day Mohntahnyeh.” Rowgond, the Hollin Beauty and her Ladies in waiting! Magic Woodelves and Bilbo! King Thranduil and Prince Lhûn, who is on the-only-ship-ever-to-sink-on-it's-way-to-Valinor float. Very impressive. Ah, here is Meddlesome Mithrandir! And the Bear! Mysian the Terrible and Fearsome Fenadochers! The Shiny and Clueless Crebain! Merry the Minstrel and Slingshots! And bringing up the rear, most finally, and last (and certainly least) we have (drumroll) Shadowfax the Light of the World. And wait, do my eyes see that clearly, is it, no! His admiring crowd of does!!! Thank you, this parade has been sponsered in part by Orcs. "We are good for something." Donations from Sauron Dark Lord, and Saruman his Puppet. The One Ring Electronics wished to thank Mushrooms Inc. for the food, and Galadriel for the music.
Wow, I had way too much fun with that. Keep writing or I will send this massive crowd of people, Elves, Dwarves and Hobbits, (and animals) to haunt you.

A very good story. Very funny, but with some serious sections.
I enjoyed the humour, but enjoyed the story overall, and found your description of the forest was very moving.

A truly magnificent ending. Although the humor struck me as bizzrae at times, I lived every word of it. Yes, I believe that I share your oddball sense of humor. :)

I shall take good care of Shadowfax until he is again needed. I really hope to see more of your writings.

Thank you!!

~Miriel
