Beneath Strange Stars  by Larner 4 Review(s)

A great tribute to the Professor! Now I must go and go and keep building my own sub-created world. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I know that as a child Tolkien wasn't likely to have access to a flashlight really, but I found that it insisted it be included, particularly as this was how I did a good deal of my nightly reading and writing as well.

A beautiful tribute! *raises glass* To the Professor!

Author Reply: Indeed! May his memory stand as long as Mankind persists!

Lovely insight! Middle-earth began with languages, with the creation of new words built on old principles, or so I remember reading.

I am loving my birthday present, collections of words. My hands can't help caressing the leather bindings as I hold a volume and peruse the letters there -- the books fit the hand so well as paperbacks, yet with more substance and elegance than a paperback could ever hope to attain.

Thank you again!

Author Reply: I rejoice that that small set found its proper home! And we are told that our beloved Arda came into being because of an urge to develop languages, so I felt that this was the proper way to honor the Master. Thank you so! And I loved seeing you yesterday!

In the Kalevala the Wizard can utter words of power that can change reality, and songs can build worlds!

Oh, wonderful! I love this little glimpse of him.

Author Reply: I am so honored, Shirebound. How mythology and legends drew him, and in building his own how he has drawn us to follow him! Thank you so!
