What a lovely idea!

*Oh!!*

Oh..Oh..Oh...

I've been hoping you'd do something one of these days w/the lovely little story you did of Merry and Estella's first Wedding somehow and in someway, but *this*!?! This is so beyond anything I could have thought of and is just so very, very perfect!!! I love it and I wish I could squeal, but the Parents would NOT like that at 4:16 AM EST. (&^%&**^^& time difference between here and Melbourne and the Aussie Open *and* my Cdn boy Milos Raonic taking on Roger Federer...)

I just so love so many of the details you've brought into this, but especially how Merry discovered his and Estella's original Marriage Contract. I think we've all got similar boxes like that somewhere, but it had to be so hard for Merry to open it and discover what it was being used for, as he and Frodo really were more Brothers than Cousins. Then for Estella to learn Frodo was the only child of Drogo and Primula to survive and to put that in perspective of her first experiences of Motherhood...So bittersweet and sad.

And Merry? It's really hard to forget Dora Baggins after meeting her. :oD I'd love to see those miniatures, as they had to been done w/much love by Frodo and when you do something w/love involved, it's always something special.

I really wish I could have seen Aragorn's face though when he finally got a good look at the original Contract and saw Frodo's signature/name there. I'm impressed all of them were able to succeed in keeping it a secret, especially Pippin not telling Diamond. Not that I think of it, that's actually amazing. ;o)

And of course Rosa *would* be up in arms. I'd love to see what could possibly happen if Merry and Estella took His Majesty up on his offer to stay until the newest little Brandybuck made it's appearance in the World....Though from Rosa's point of view. I think that would be fun to write, as she's so overly dramatic and while you might dislike them for it, those characters are always a blast and a half to write because of it. ;oD It could even be sent inside of a letter to Freddy or Sam asking them to take it to Rosa w/the warning of "Have smelling salts standing by..." :oD

Sigh....This really is so amazing and such a lovely sequel to Merry's Wedding. I do believe I have a new favourite among your stories. :o) Thanks for sharing it w/us. :o)

Author Reply: I loved writing this sequel, and am so glad that it chose to write itself through me. And it must have been fun planning some things to surprise Aragorn from time to time.

Maybe I will add more to the story of Rosamunda and her silly reactions to Frodo, but now I have to finish that next chapter to "Stirring Rings," which I've been putting off too long!

Thanks so, Tigger! Hope the skating went well!

Well, I was interrupted, as I expected, but then I was given a short reprieve, and so I gulped down the rest of the story. How lovely! I will have to seek out the related stories for a future quiet moment.

As you well know, I love well-thought-out customs and lovingly crafted traditions, and so I smiled through this whole story. (Though it did make me think of Pippin-and-Estella's mock wedding, where Pippin was not so willing a participant... and that makes me laugh, too.)

Hope to see you next week. I found some old notes from "Thain" the other day while sorting through old papers; now if I can just get some uninterrupted computer time to see what I can make of them...

Author Reply: Oh, I'm eager to hear the notes, as well as to see Thain continue! I will have to see what the District Court allows, of course, although there's a good chance I won't end up on any trial, in which case the pups and I will head down your way, of course. Am still working on Stirring Rings, of course, and have most of the next chapter done now. Just have a bit more to finish and to get it past Fiondil, of course.

I love imagining what ceremonies and customs might have been like, and seeing how they work out when different cultures managed to interact.

Am so very glad you enjoyed this, and wish you all the best for your birthday! Take care and God bless, and see you soon!

You wouldn't believe the number of times I've started to read this, and been interrupted. (Well, maybe you would. We're still working five people to one computer, and in the whirl of high school debate season, so I get very little screen time at the moment.)

Anyhow, am going to start reading yet again, and this time if I get interrupted I will post this review, with a promise to come back later!

we want to think that everyone we love and honor had a definite part to play in our marriage

Oh, that's marvelous. You have such a wonderful imagination!

Author Reply: I'm so honored, Shirebound. But wouldn't they wish to think that all they loved had a part to play in their marriage in such a manner? Thanks so!

Ooh this one to treasure and reread time and again. It brought a tear to my eye. Perfect Larner.

Author Reply: I found I had to revisit that pretend wedding again, and that marriage contract needed to be completed. Thanks so, Harrowcat!
