| What a lovely and dignified destiny for such a beloved tree. I hope your birthday was wonderful. Author Reply: We know that the loss of so many beloved trees were a blow to the hearts of the returning Travellers, and particularly to Frodo and Sam. How deeply both must have been hurt by the loss of the Hill's roof tree as well as the Party Tree. I so hope that the roof tree might have known such a fate! And I loved my birthday this year! It was wonderful meeting with Lindelea and one of her three delightful daughters as I did, and getting to hear Billy Boyd as we did. I only grieve that Sean Astin was too ill to also appear. | |
