Hahahahha! Okaaaayyyy! Well, that was different. Since I am so besotted by Legolas, it is hard for me to see him as a female...but, it is a cute twist. I have enjoyed the story very much. Thank you.
As always,
Peace,
Beverly

*blinks*

That was an interesting twist. I'm not sure that I entirely buy it without some more explanations.

Legolas had been announced in Rivendell as the son of Thranduil - so does that mean that Thranduil was a part of the deception (as Gimli's father was for her) - or was this something Legolas did on her own hook? And did Elrond see through it (presumably Vilya would have given him extra perception) or not? And if he did - why did he permit her to join the Quest, presumably in defiance of (per Legolas' complaint) the conventional restrictions on Elven women? Given the crucial nature of the Quest, I cannot see him doing it simply for the sake of politics/relations between the Elven realms.

Galadriel, on the other hand... *Her* perception would not have posed much problem, I think... She would have been amused (and more than a bit sympathetic) to the participation of two women in the Quest. (And having sympathies for the Dwarves, she would not only wish to shelter Gimli, I believe, but also knowing of Legolas' identity, she would wish to foster that friendship... not just for their sakes, but also as a restoring-of-good-relations between the two peoples, before the Elves left Middle Earth for good. At least, that is how I see it.

Author Reply: Thanks for reading, Calenharn. This was just a funny alt ending, not to be taken too seriously. Several readers had suggested legolas should be a girl too, so I thought it would just be fun to stick it in there as an alt ending.

*Giggle* I really love this story, and the epilogue is great. Gloin suddenly acting like the father of a girl is so amusing. Well done! I'm looking forward to the alternate ending.

Author Reply: Thank you Rhyselle! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :)

Once a father always a father, no matter how old they get, and whome ever they bring home to dinner!

It's a pity that you will not continue the story, as it has an interesting (if unlikely) premise.

Thank you, though, for your attempt; I appreciate that sometimes stories that start well come to a dead end (or at least a place where the author bangs her head against the wall and can go no further).

I'm curious as to what your alternate ending might be, so do please post it.

Author Reply: Thanks for reading. Sorry I couldn't stir the muse to continue the tale. maybe one day... :)

I want a longer story, but you have beautifully brought the pieces together here. We have the secret kept and the friendship begun. Wonderful job.

Thanks

Well, well, well. Legolas knew all along. I should have known. Loved the part where Gimli found Legolas in the pool bathing. What female could resist watching such a beautiful sight. LOL!
So sorry to hear that your muse deserted you...they are a fickle lot.
Looking forward to reading the ending to this charming little tale.

As always,
Peace
