Ancestress  by Dreamflower 8 Review(s)

Good for Mirime, Dreamflower! I'm glad she saw to it that the Elves would protect the hobbits and not endanger their privacy. =)

Kaylee

Author Reply: Well, that *was* her job as given to her by Yavanna. She remembered in time to say something to the Elves.

Adamanta takes very good care of her charges.

Author Reply: Yes, she does indeed. Of course, she's beginning to take a personal interest!

"For the skill of going unnoticed was to be their greatest asset."

Very true!

Author Reply: It served them very well, at least!

So, that was how the protection of the hobbits began.
Through all the centuries it worked remarkably well.

Thanks to Mirime there were still people in Frodo's time who thought that hobbits were not real. Now they know better ;-)

Author Reply: Yes, for a very long time!

Now they know better-- indeed they do!

Ah! Excellent advice! Wonderful to see this one moving once more, too.

Author Reply: As this won the Finish-a-thon poll, there should be frequent updates over the next few weeks!

Hm, there's some use in being a Maia; it makes you more respected among the Elves. Good to know they will keep this encounter more or less secret.

Author Reply: Yes, more or less. Mirime knows they'll tell Thranduil, but she also knows that this way they will not be spreading the news of the new little race all over Middle-earth!

okay, I know I can't ask too much, I'm glad you're writing more about Trotter elsewhere, but I've been watching and waiting to hear more of THIS story too. can't wait to see where you go with this.

Author Reply: *grin* It's always lovely to hear from you! I hope to be updating this one frequently over the next eight weeks, as-- like "Trotter"-- it won the poll as my Finish-a-thon fic this year!

Mirime seems to have rectified the situation. The Elves will not lightly disregard her warning. Now to see what comes of this all.

Author Reply: No, they'll take a warning from one of the Maiar very seriously!
