I wonder what kind of ribbing that unfortunate elf got for his clumsiness once back in the halls of Greenwood?!

Author Reply: LOL! I'm sure he got. Some, though of course it wasn't his fault. And I'm sure it would never occur to them to blame Yavanna's handmaiden. ;)

Well, Mirime's smitten, now! And oh boy...looks like Tuk and his friends are in for an Elven confrontation! Heh, I'd forgotten they came from the Anduin originally!

Kaylee

Author Reply: Indeed, it seems from what I can gather, from the upper Anduin valley.

Making a bit of mischief, is she? LOL I like that she did things that way rather than just stepping into the open and speaking to all concerned.

Author Reply: Yes, she was a bit mischievous, wasn't she? She certainly contributed her share to the Tookish bloodline!

Can you tell I'm playing 'catch up' with reviewing once again? Sorry for being so far behind :(

The first elf was certainly more sensible than the second; the Hobbits don't take much and shouldn't pose any threat. I hope things don't get ugly.

I see that Mirime was meant to take hobbit form! She has just the right sense of humor for it! Most intriguing. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Author Reply: I think you are right! I'm sure that's part of what attracts her to them!

I always squeak happily when I find an update for this story, Dreamflower! I love the whole idea that one of the Maia would have fallen in love with a hobbit (who wouldn't?). She certainly has a sense of mischief but perhaps she wants the Elves and hobbits to get to know each other.

Author Reply: "perhaps she wants the Elves and hobbits to get to know each other."

I think you are quite right!

That's an interesting scene, quite different from the others and indeed unlike any I've read before.

Author Reply: It was different for me-- I had no idea what Mirime was going to do until suddenly she did it!

AndreaReviewed Chapter: 14 on 2/12/2010
That's interesting! I did not expect her to do that!

There might be two reasons: She wanted to protect Tuk (unconsciously!), or she wanted the hobbits and elves to meet and come to know each other better.
Let's see what will be the outcome!

Author Reply: Neither did I! She just decided to give things a little push. I think she may have wished to see how the hobbits and the Elves would react to one another...

Seems we've heard that command before! Heh! It's one that Frodo particularly must know well.

She wanted the Elves to be noted by the Hobbits! Now, to see what comes of the meeting.

Author Reply: Well, it's one of the few Elvish phrases I know, LOL! But it seemed appropriate for the occasion!

Yes, she did indeed want them noticed...

So glad you've updated this!

I think what I liked most about this installment was Mirime's "spirit of mischief," which immediately added something fresh and almost youthful to her character--it was unexpected, but it fit her, the way that any Powers should be simultaneously familiar and strange. I also like the fact that she did something proactive... though what it will lead to I guess I'll have to wait and find out!

Author Reply: Yes, Mireme rather surprised me, as well! I am learning about her as I go, and she is revealing some interesting personality traits!
