Yes, THIS is the Aragorn we love--the true King, who seeks to set right what he unmeaningly has set amiss.

Beautiful, Linda.

A lovely tale, Linda, and just what we would expect from the responsible healer king!

That is indeed a very good portrayal of why Aragorn was such a good and wise king. He felt it was his duty to serve his people, and not otherwise.

A good exploration of kingly responsibility; the reeve obviously did not care much for the people of the village; while Aragorn, lord of all the realm of Gondor, took on responsibility for the health of the boy he had inadvertantly injured as well as the welfare of the boy's family. A nice chapter!

This chapter is proof positive why Aragorn is so awesome (if you will forgive the Americanism) a king. I'm reminded of the tale of the corrupt aristocracy in pre-Revolution France in which after a carriage trampled a peasant youth the lord who was riding in it merely tossed some money out the window behind him (as if that would solve the problem of his heedlessness!). Aragorn's actions show the exact opposite here, to the point of delaying his arrival at a feast for the care of one youth!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you liked my portrayal of Aragorn as I truly feel he would help the most lowly of his subjects just as he helped the Hobbits.
