Lords of Gondor  by Linaewen 3 Review(s)

Ah, a wonderful treat to see a new chapter to this story! Poor Faramir; and poor Boromir! I do wonder at what point you plan to allow him entry to the city, and what part he will play in Faramir's healing. But I can also imagine what hope his appearance will bring to his people--the arrival of the Rohirrim in the book was a hope unlooked for when all seemed lost to the men of Gondor; it must be 10 times that if their beloved captain returns as well!

One question I have, though: I noticed when I looked at the chapter list, that the chapters went from 52 to 54. What happened to 53?

Author Reply: Oops! Thanks for catching my mistake with the chapter numbers. It should have been Chapter 53 -- I must have put 54 by mistake because some writing that didn't fit in the current chapter was used to start Chapter 54!

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Certainly at this point the Enemy does not wish for Denethor to see anything that might give him hope, and will show the Lord Steward only all indications that no army could hope to stand against Mordor's massed forces. And I hope that he cannot see Aragorn in the Paths of the Dead and working his way to and up the river, or the forces of Rohan being led through the forest by Ghan-buri-Ghan and his folk. At least he has no appreciation for the mismatch between Frodo's mithril shirt and Sam's sword to realize that the senseless foe found outside Shelob's lair was not alone. His darkness limits his own appreciation for the forces coming against those of Mordor.

Imrahil's concern for Pippin makes me smile. :)
