My goodness.... what a treat. I did not realize you were posting chapters. So glad I came to read Katzillas and decided to see what you’ve been up to. A glorious chapter. I noticed, in some comments, that someone said reading Lords of Gondor was like reading the master, himself. Love every word of this chapter. The Rohirrim, Boromir's men, Pippin and Gandalf... and Faramir. Exquisite. Blessings.

This is so familiar:
"You are not 'up'," Gandalf said sternly, "until you are out of bed with your two feet on the floor and your eyes open." LOL!

I love the discussion between Faramir and Pippin.

(I am also sad not to find two of my favourite characters, Beregond and his son Bergil, in the scenes in Minas Tirith. Are they yet to come, or do they not fit in this version? Regardless, you are doing a marvellous job.)

Oh, I love this. What a nice idea to have Pippin and Faramir have breakfast together before the day begins in earnest.

It pleases me to think that the Steadfast Jewel who bore Hope and later the Sufficient Jewel who bore the Kindler found themselves each laboring and fighting alongside the one named Holy Hope by his foster father who bore the Flame of the West as well as the one who bore Narya, also the Kindler!

Hmmm. Harthad and Narthad. Faramir does indeed kindle a new life after the war. I like the way Durlin is a presence in this scene even though he does not directly appear. In a time of war-time food rationing, he is still able to "scrounge up" a breakfast to fortify two who will indeed have the hardest day of their lives so far to face. And Rohirric horses and new hope? The countdown to destiny seems to be quickening, indeed. It is good to see that Boromir has still two with him trying to take as good care of him as Durlin would have.
