Aha! I wondered what had happened to the other half of the horn! Also, I'm really enjoying the interaction between Legolas and Boromir.

I've been waiting for a good moment to stop and leave a review, and this feels like the right one. I love ending this chapter with the other half of the horn floating along the river -- backs us out from the story with a lovely, concrete image that also serves to heighten the tension and remind us that things keep moving forward, keep getting swept along.

A gripping story thusfar! Well written, and well researched (as others have noted). I am eager to catch up.

A wonderful Boromir-lives might-have-been you have started here. Although I worry as to what interpretation might be given that shard of Boromir's horn.

Although not usually a fan of the Boromir-survives genre I like your story due to the thoughtful portrayal of your characters and the nicely wound plot that you have built. Actions follow each other logically given the assumptions you've made and fit well within JKR's larger assumptions and history.
Thanks so much for your excellent efforts--which I hope you will continue.
Matt

Hope grows! And what benefit will be found in Boromir surviving? Denethor will NOT go mad of grief, and will choose to fight?
