Raksha The DemonReviewed Chapter: 1 on 6/7/2008
Excellent idea for a vignette, and well-written through an ambivalent, and somewhat surprising, finish.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'd not thought of the ending like that before!

The Eye needed to be drawn; and he did it well. And you depicted Halbarad very well here, I think!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review .I'm pleased you liked my first attempt at writing Halbarad outside a drabble.

Ah, this is one of my favorite Trilogy gapfillers, and one of my favorite Aragorn-Halbarad scenes. A very tense and harrowing scene, and yet comforting that Halbarad was there with Aragorn. Aragorn's flash of poignant foresight was bittersweet; I agree that Halbarad would not have been turned back.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review and your very kind words about this story.I feel honoured it should be one of your favourite gapfillers!

Linda, I loved the first version of this story. I found it very poignant and very close to what can be inferred from the book. But, as usual, you managed to make it even better in this second version.
