Fiondil's Tapestry  by Fiondil 13 Review(s)
Midnight PromiseReviewed Chapter: 23 on 9/6/2009
I am have just been reading through you stories again. . .And forgot how much I enjoy 'em! :D

Aw, poor Thranduil! Gah! Namo! Stop being mean to Legolas! *rolls eyes* Honestly, they think they are gods and can get away with EVERYTHING, hmph! ;D

Oropher?! You have Oropher there and he is not in the scene?! o-o That reminds me, you mentioned Thranduil had other children in a separate piece, and his eldest died correct . . .? Hehe, you already know what I am going to ask you. ;-) It seems that every review I leave I am always hinting (would bribing be better?) for more! Lol. Well my friend, I am afraid you are cursed with excellent writing and so the plea for more of your works is the outcome. :3

RL only so-so? Well I hope it gets more exciting for you, or relaxing if its already hectic. ;D

Cheers,

MP

Author Reply: Hi MP. I´m glad you are re-reading and enjoying my Tapestry stories. I am afraid that at the moment the Muse has other plans for me, but I will keep in mind your request for stories about Oropher and Legolas´ older brother. *grin*

And sometimes I think I am cursed indeed, for I have story ideas coming out of my ears and I fear I will not live long enough (I am over 50, after all) to get them all written. *sigh* But I appreciate your kind words about my writing ability. Thank you.

Ah, I'm so glad to see Lord Námo has good taste in food. *grin* What a treat to get into his head for once. *grin*

You have to hand it to Thranduil. Stubborn, arrogant, but the Elvenking has balls the size of boulders. LOL! Few would be that gutsy. But in the end, Thranduil is just a father, after all. Poor Legolas.

Very nice! I love these gapfillers. *grin*

Author Reply: Of course he has good taste in food... he's a Vala, after all. *grin*

As Námo told Legolas, Thranduil is a force to be reckoned with... though I think the Lord of Mandos handled him rather nicely, myself.

Glad you enjoyed this little fic. Thanks for reviewing.

That was priceless!!!!!! And here I was sitting with a stupid grin at my face while my aunt passed by. She probably thinks I'm crazy. But who wouldn't be grinning after reading this wonderful fic!

Author Reply: Thanks, sprite. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Maybe you should have your aunt read it so she knows just how crazy you are. LOL

Thanks for the warning. Loved the crabcakes and the smiles from namo's wife. The whole exchange with Thranduil was great. There were so many great lines in there, too like the one with beaing able to teach feanor a thing or two. Poor Leggy was hilarious in his "green-ness". What a delightful tale of fatherly love and annoyed Vala.

Author Reply: Thanks, Ellie. I'm glad you enjoyed this tale, especially the exchange with Thranduil and Legolas being 'green'. *grin* Námo certainly was annoyed but he kept his cool through it all.

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 23 on 6/17/2008
Ah, thanks so for the chuckle! And they'd all move away if Thranduil moved it? Heh!

Author Reply: You're welcome, Larner. Glad you like this little fic. Apparently, dealing with Glorfindel in Mandos was bad enough, but no one wants to deal with Thranduil in a similar state. *grin*

Fiondil,
First- about your warnings. The problem is I always seem to see the updates during my coffee break and no way in mandos, am I waiting to read them. So I always end up with coke up my nose.

I love Thranduil, if I ever have to get rid of my husband he is definitely next in line.
A great story as always.

Author Reply: Thanks eliza. I'm glad you enjoyed this tale. Sorry about the coke up your nose, but I did warn you. *grin*

Oh, thank you so much Fiondil! This little story has just totally made my day! Thanks for taking my question and giving it life.

Where to start:

"You have a lot of nerve, Vala, keeping my son from me." *snort* Who but Thranduil would barge in and not even give a hint obeisance to the Vala?

"I gave Thranduil my most intimidating stare. Naturally, he didn’t take the hint." Is anyone but Thranduil not affected by Námo's glare? He seems to totally ignore it - nobody messes with a dad and his concern for his son!

And Legolas must have looked just like a little efling trailing after his ada - I'm sure those two provided much amusement for Námo and the rest!

Yes, Glorfindel and Thranduil in Námo's halls would have rocked that place on its foundations I'm thinking! I have a feeling Oropher must have given Námo a few grey hairs during his stay.

Once again, a great big thank you for giving Thranduil's point of view!

Ces

Author Reply: Well, I did say that if the right inspiration came along... and if the muse were cooperative... Well, it did and he was, and there you have it. *grin*

Glad this little fic meets with your approval. Thanks for the idea.

Oh this was wonderfully funny! And now I have a taste for crab cakes and no way to get any (I wonder if Tol Eressëan crab cakes taste as good as Chesapeake Bay blue crab cakes?) in the immediate future.

Poor Legolas. He was dreading that his embarrassing secret was going to come out afer all this time. But I can also understand Thranduil's feelings on the matter as well.

But I think the thing I liked best was the byplay between the Valar and Maiar during the whole scene. Maranwe's comment had me howling with laughter and I could barely breathe for a couple minutes after reading Námo's comeback I was laughing so hard.

What a great way to start my day. Thanks, meldonya!

Edlyn

Author Reply: Legolas has a lot to live down and the last thing he wants Thranduil to know is just *how* he died. Too embarrassing for a wood elf and a prince at that.

I'm glad you liked the byplay between the Valar and Maiar especially Maranwë's comment and Námo's rejoinder. And they say the Valar have no sense of humor. *grin*

Thanks for letting me know how much you enjoyed this tale.

I don't have time for a thorough review right now, but I have to say that I can't stop grinning. I'd always wondered whether Legolas had ever admitted just what happened to his Adar or not... now I know.

And the idea of Lord Namo enjoying crabcakes just totally tickled my fancy! I wonder if a Tol Eressean crabcake would taste like the wonderful ones my grandmother would make when I was a kid in Baltimore? *grin*

I'm so glad that Ces asked! Great job!

Author Reply: I'm glad this made your morning, especially as I know the night before was no fun for you. I suspect the Tol Eressëan crabcakes would taste even better, considering it's Elves who are making them, though I'm sure your grandmother's would come in a close second. *grin*

Hmm, crab cake, that does sound good. Thanks for the food warning. NOW I will go and have breakfast.

Author Reply: You're welcome. Bon apetit!
