Jay's Drabblets II  by Jay of Lasgalen 7 Review(s)

Again, I love the image in this drabble, in this case of father and son together. Very sweet.

Author Reply: It had been a while since I wrote Thranduil and Legolas like this, and I enjoyed going back to them. I've never seen Thranduil as anything but a loving father, unlike some of those abusive fics out there.

Reading this has even more impact after "Think of a World without any Harvest". Lovely!

Author Reply: Thank you! 'Think Of A World' was sad to write with the other pictures in my mind :(

Tolkien was always very vague about where people (other than hobbits) got their food from - you fill that gap nicely!

Author Reply: When I took the time to think about it, I realised that there would be all kinds of food sources in the forest - and the elves would make use of everything they could. I love gap fillers - bless Tolkien for leaving so many!

Oh yes, I can see the Woodelves celebrating the harvest in this way. And the end was just lovely, Jay!

Oh my - beautiful scene... but you tore my heart out with dear Thranduil's love for Legolas. Nicely done, indeed!

Ah, marvelous, Jay--and especially love that last line. So appropriate, this appreciation for the First Fruits! Heh!

Author Reply: Thank you! I like to go back to writing Legolas and Thranduil occasionally, and I just love Thranduil in his Elvenking glory!
